Norway & Iceland - Excellent First Cruise

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Brilliance of the Seas

This was our first cruise and overall we were very impressed. We are a family of four, children aged 12 and 10. We found the 'large' ocean view cabin too small. Plenty of storage for 2, but took endless organisation for the 4 of us. However we didn't spend too much time in the cabin so wasn't too much of an issue. We generally liked the overall layout if the ship, however felt the centrum area ...

To get to Harwich from downtown London we hired a taxi from http://expressairporttransport.co.uk. they provide free quote. (July 2014) 4 adults with one large suitcase each, cost 97 pounds, cheaper than the cruise transfer (100$ us pp). From the ship to Heathrow it was 125 pounds cruise ship charged 122$ US PP. excellent drivers very polite and reliable. Boarding : went well because we were early ...

Cruise GREAT; shipboard experience just OK

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Celebrity Infinity

The "cruise" was just great. Itinerary, pacing, ports - and weather [WOW!]. Fellow cruisers were a delight, including those we met via the CC Roll Call. But the "onboard experience" on Infinity was just OK. Spouse and I had sailed on Galaxy years ago and wanted to try Celebrity again. We agree that Celebrity just isn't us. And that Celebrity isn't what it thinks it is - at least as we see it. We ...

The port of Harwick England which is a two hour drive from Heathrow air port was an expense in time and money you have got to consider. Personally I thought it was a bit to much. The embarkation was extremely fast and efficient, our cabin was a nice balcony on the ninth deck, which gave us a nice view every morning. Our shore excursions varied as some countries were difficult to figure out what ...

Enjoyable but no WOW Factor!

This was our third cruise in the past five years, having previously cruised on the Grand Princess and the Celebrity Eclipse. Whilst enjoyable, RCI did not come up to the standards we were used to. We found the quality of the food poor, both in the main dining room and in the Windjammer. Processed meats and cheaper cuts prevailed. A low sodium diet meant repeats of steak/fish with the same ...

Brilliance of the Seas, BALTICS CRUISE and PORT INFO It has been almost ten years since I cruised the Baltic Sea, and I am glad I returned there on the Brilliance. A Baltic Sea itinerary is ideal since the largest cities and some of the best scenery of this area are right on the coastline and easily accessible by cruise ship. More about those ports later in this review. THE SHIP: The Brilliance ...

'Modern Luxury', '5 star'. Celebrity most defiantly is NOT

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Celebrity Infinity

It was very clear from day on on our dated and untidy ship, that money was needed to be spend on maintenance of many area, from the seating at the pool to the carpets and buttons in the lifts. We felt that perhaps this was an older ship so hey, let's not get excited with that. It was what happened every where else that was concerning me. The staff were not happy at all. I saw on three separate ...

Celebrity Infinity Review 4 July 2014 There was a lot of negativity about the Infinity in recent Cruise Critic reviews, so much so that we were a bit apprehensive about our trip. We needn’t have worried! The sun shone, the ship was clean, the food was marvellous and the crew were as friendly as ever (this was our third cruise with Celebrity). Boarding at Harwich was easy. We stayed overnight at ...

On June 7, 2014, together with another two couples, we took the Royal Caribbean, Brilliance of the Seas, out of Harwich, England. The cruise was twelve days, and it was a wonderful experience. We loved every port that the ship docked at, and got to see so many interesting sites, and how the people live, on the other side of the world. The only part of the whole experience that I didn't like was ...

Not Very Brilliant!  Having cruised on RC Navigator of the Seas a few years ago i had high expectations for this cruise and was significantly disappointed! Let's start with the positives before the list of moans! Embarkation was smooth and speedy Cabin a fair size and cleaned well throughout our stay Ship layout and interactive boards makes for easy navigation around the ship Our waiters in ...
