We disembarked the Silver Wind in early June and generally had a very good cruise.
The main attraction, certainly so far as my OH was concerned, was the sail in and out under Tower Bridge (note to destination lecturer - not "The" Tower Bridge, just Tower Bridge).
We had a quick and easy embarkation and our suite, a classic veranda, was fine and looked in good order. We did find an item on a ...
Enjoyed the whole Silversea experience. But they MUST attend to the internet issue. Cabin was excellent so was service. Menu not changed very often which was disappointing. Ship had unexplained juddering at speeds above about 15 knots. No relationship with sea conditions. Maybe caused by the recent lengthening. Was a bit unpleasant at times. Crew were almost all very obliging and cheerful. I ...
After a series of Alaska cruises on the Silver Shadow this year my wife and I decided to try something different: a 14 day cruise around the British Isles. We were attracted by the ports (including Belfast, where I grew up; and Dublin, where we met and got married). For an added bonus the cruise started and ended at Tower Bridge in London (where the Silver Wind tied up alongside HMS ...
We chose the cruise for the total Norwegian itinerary and were not disappointed particularly as the weather was perfect throughout.
The facilities on board were excellent but the management of the Pool deck re opening time for a pre breakfast swim were appalling with complaints from many clients being ignored by senior officers.
Food was variable dependent on restaurant visited.MDR was the ...
Food and complementary drink very good. Good variety of four restaurants, though the best, for which an extra 40$ per head was charged, apparently had the same menu every night. The wines provided free were good and the wine list for additional wines was interesting and reasonably priced. Embarkation and disembarkation efficient, little waiting, plenty of meeters, greeters and porters. Excellent ...
My previous experiences on the Silversea line ships were pleasant. The ship was comfortable. The food was excellent and the locations we were docked in were all close to the centre of cities except Copenhagen. The absence of classes and prepaid liquour packages was appreciated. We went on prebooked shore excursions in most ports and found them to be well planed and educative. Our cabin butler was ...
This was my 59th cruise. We booked our air with Royal Caribbean. The gave us nice flights with only one stop from our home base just outside of Washington, DC in Bethesda, Maryland. We purchased the transfers from the airport to the ship, the bus was clean and took a little over two hours to reach the ship.
Since we are Diamond members we were quickly checked in, were on the ship, and buzzed on ...
This was definitely a cruise I should have used cruise critic. I always do, except here. Never again. We booked Normandy, Loch Ness, Jameson brewery & tour of coastal Belfast. All were an A+. I recommend each one. We took the hop on, hop off buses in the rest of the cities. ...ripped off. ..at least a 1/3 more in cost. When I got back and complained, she said she checked and they weren't that much ...
