Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Carnival Pride

We initially chose this cruise due to the price combined with the itinerary. I really didn’t want to add another cruise this year because we have traveled quite a bit and we have more on the books, but this seemed too good to pass up. We really enjoyed this ship. It is beautiful and just the right size to our thinking. The itinerary was ideal, but there were three tinder ports, and Dublin, for ...

Chose this cruise for the itinerary. Hadn't sailed on Carnival for decades but was pleasantly surprised. The ship itself was in drydock for a month prior to sailing and looked great. There were signs of cutbacks which didn't keep me from enjoying the cruise but were noticeable. Cabin stewards seemed to have more cabins to service but we still had wonderful service from our attendant, Adi. ...

Norway Fjords, 9 days are too long.

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Carnival Pride

On October 2022 I booked a 14 days Baltic cruise in P&O Britanny, which I paid on front, because the pound-dollar rate was the lowest, about 1.12 ( currently 1.28 ), no service charge, free launderette, overnight in Stockholm and Copenhague, calls in Helsinki and 3 more small cities. A few weeks later the cruise was cancelled by P&O and I had to find something to replace it within the same dates ...

Great way to experience coastal Norway

Hurtigruten’s “Expedition” series cruises are half-way between a traditional cruise and an adventure expedition. The food is top class, plentiful and well managed but the choice of restaurants, bars and dining experiences is limited. The on-board entertainment centres around lectures, craft activities etc and there are no “shows” or anything of the like. There is no casino. The focus is on ...

Initially chose this cruise as my very elderly parents needed a holiday and flying was out of the question. Found the staff very helpful and friendly. The cabins one of the largest I have come across at sea with a decent bathroom. The ship was heavily decorated with an Italian renaissance theme which may some of the communal areas including 9th floor buffet restaurant area dark. Eat ...

Pros and cons

This was our 4th Carnival cruise, but the first one we've taken in Europe. Embarkation went well, although the coach transfer from London to Dover, which we purchased from Carnival, departed 50 minutes late. We had hoped to get to Dover with time to explore before departure, but the coach got there too late. Generally we found the food to be quite good. They no longer provide menus in the ...

I chose this Expedition cruise as it had a great itinerary around the remote Scottish Isles. Particularly good if travelling alone as I found crew and passengers really friendly and helpful. The expedition team were great. Customer services desk staff excellent for sorting out any queries or problems. Cabin lacked space to put your clothes as no drawers and only 1 small wardrobe. Not ...

We received a text offering this cruise as a very competitive price so we decided to bite the bullet and do our first post covid cruise. We usually sail with P and O, this was our first time on Carnival so we were interested to see how they compare. Our cruise company used Port Parking which had a 15 minute transfer from Folkestone, embarkation was fairly smooth, a bit of queuing outside the ...

This expedition cruise appealed to us as it was informal, the pricing was clear and the ship visited a wide range of locations, many never visited by other cruises. In addition there was the option to be as active and adventurous as you liked; kayaking, zodiac cruises, science activities, art and crafts, hiking and just being a tourist were all on offer. Three very good meals a day with ...

Fantastic Norwegian scenery and northern lights

I chose this cruise as i wished to see first hand the northern lights. They appeared on two nights and the captain alerted your cabin immediately. I had recommendation from people who had completed the coastal voyage on post ships. This cruise was definitely an “expedition” you need to be fit to attempt the hiking programmes and be aware of what it may be like to kayak and paddle board in ...
