Free to wait and wait in lines from the buffet to the main dining rooms. During these tight times extra pay restaurants are a hard sell. Especially when you do not get that much better food or service so..... expect long lines at the regular restaurants. 30-45 minute waits were common most evenings. Trying to plan dinner times so you could also get to the shows was futile we missed several or got ...
The review posted by BobnJeff saves me writing here. I was relieved to read it and see that someone else was unhappy with exactly the same things. I concur with their comments 100%. The gap between NCL's brochure and reality was a great disappointment (for the record, the brochure is NCL Freestyle Cruising 2009-2010, 2nd edition). Consequently, the frequently-repeated brochure-instruction was not ...
We have cruised before, two cruises on Airtours (no longer in the cruise market), two back to back (four weeks in total) with Windstar and a previous Transatlantic to Italy and through to France (two weeks) with NCL on this ship. Our primary reason for booking this cruise was an interesting itinerary and a very cheap deal for an Inside Guarantee a couple of weeks before sailing.Free parking was ...
We have cruised before but though we would try a larger Ship.....choose NCL mistake.. We got the feeling that there may have been a health problem, as we had our hands sprayed everytime we got on & off the ship also going into all the resturants also sprays were in all lifts, & staff alll wore disposable gloves.this lasted the whole of the cruise also salt & pepper were only put on the table 3 ...
My friends and I went on the Norwegian Jewel cruise from 5/10 to 5/22 which cruised the Baltics. The cruise line made a bad impression from the beginnning. Check in was a breeze but then we had to wait a long time in a crowded room to be allowed to board the ship. Worse, people who arrived later than us were allowed to board the ship earlier. There was a breakout of the Norovirus on the last ...
One Fantastic and Fun Cruise on Norwegian Jewel in April 2009PersonalBeing the seventh son of eight boys in a row and two girls, I am a member of a fantastic and close family with personalities spanning the crosscut of those a person would meet in a lifetime. We lived on the Detroit River at the mouth of Lake St. Clair. Our home was a massive English Tudor on the River with a man-made / dredged ...
The Norwegian Jewel was like a jewelry box beautiful on the surface but rubbish in the inside by the attitude of SOME of its staff. Only used the 'free' restaurants and the standard of service was not good, also I never saw our cabin person all cruise- was it a man or a woman. The cabin was not cleaned properly before we came into it as it had a pair of womens pants left on the shelf. Yuk. No ...
I've got to tell you, I was very impressed with NCL, both before we cruised and during. The Baltic 12 day cruise was awesome with the highlight being the 2 days in St Petersburg Russia, particularly with our private tour guide Anya we found through the internet (www.guidestpetersburgrussia.com) but more on that later. I will try to categorize our cruise experience by pre-cruise information, ...
Well here we go again, seems like it took years to be leaving for another cruise! Actually it was only 6 months. but a long 6 months. By the by we were gone 17 days all told and we each had a 22 inch carry on and a small back pack for the trip. There is a laundry on board. First time I had been back in London for a number of years so really enjoyed the wandering around. Took the National City bus ...
This was a reasonable cruise, the boat was very well organized, the excursions were good and timely, cabins were good, staff was overfriendly for additional tip hunting reasons, food was very good in the main Tzar's restaurant and I liked the sport facilities including the NCL stadium with all it had on offer. We also had a case of my wife's bag having disappeared and security doing a fabulous job ...
