Review for Boudicca to Europe - British Isles & Western

6-10 Cruises

Age 40s

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night cruise down the river Seine. Having cruised on the big ships of P&O, Princess, RC, NCL we were concerned that a smaller ship would not be as good - how wrong we were. The ship has a great layout with lovely pools and bars at the back of the ship plus other great places to sit and watch the world go by in comfort. We are in our early 40’s and were ...

Fine cruise to the Fjords of Greenland

We boarded Boudicca at the beginning of August in Dover for her Fjords of Greenland cruise. We had booked a superior outside cabin but were upgraded to a junior suite some weeks before departure. This cabin, 5009, was at the front of the ship and was large, warm and very comfortable. The only noise to be heard was as the ship dropped anchor or used its bow thrusters. We were due to go north to ...

Stunning scenery

We have been to Greenland before and wanted to repeat the experience as the scenery was stunning, not so much ice this time but still overwhelming. Boudicca has been refitted and the ambience is bright and cheerful but only on the surface (more later on this) The restaurants were all very nice and the staff were excellent. We did use the new outside grill and this was well worth the extra charge. ...

Floating Travelodge

First Time Cruiser

We chose this cruise because it left from Dover, which is to near to home, and because it visits the Norwegian fjords. Norway is amazing, but I overheard Boudicca being dubbed HMS Dignitas, and that was upsettingly accurate. It really was a floating care home. There were no activities or evening shows even remotely suitable for the under 70s; it was all bridge, knitting, and very bad easy ...

Our first Seabourn Cruise. We were on board for 45 days, Dover to Montreal via Scotland, Iceland, Greenland, Labrador. The Viking historical highlights were the Hvalsey church in Greenland and the Anse aux Meadows in Newfoundland. Sadly, the St. Kilda landing was scrubbed due to inclement weather. The scenic highlights were the fjords and glaciers of Prince Christian Sound, and the cultural ...

TO sea easter island and other places unfortunately most port's closed being Sundays. Other port's commercial and miles from anywhere worst entertainment if any. Un heated pool Large smoking area outside cabin most people coughing fighting on stairs to get off ship in Curacao only 3 hours on shore in my opinion it was more like a old people's home at sea First ...

Very rare to get on Easter island on this half world cruise

We chose this trip because it was going to interesting places like Easter island. Little did we know they almost ever get on at Easter Island and since it is a long way from anywhere we had ten sea days in a row. This was very annoying and I would encourage people to think twice before doing this trip. There were some good ports like Rejavik and New York and St. John’s and Charleston but the ...

Age 50s

We are long time Seabourn cruisers recently off a 16 day cruise on Quest. Last year on an 18 day trip on Ovation we noticed many changes, not for the good. This trip, it’s clear the product has sunk far below what it once was. 1. Dinner Service in the Restaurant/Colonnade. Three dinners where we casually appeared between 7:30 and 8:30. Result: At least a half hour between courses. Water ...

Great Way to See Ireland

Great itinerary. Lots of stops in Ireland. One really gets a feel for the country and island. Northern Ireland was also very interesting. Most of the excursions were satisfactory but tame. We did some trips on our own (such as to Bushmills Irish Whiskey Distillery and Antrim Coast), Limerick, and other places where we wanted to spend more time. But many of the ship excursions were half day and we ...

It was an ideal way to get to Iceland without having to fly (which I refuse to do any more). Embarkation was smooth and fast with scarcely any queueing. Disembarkation was equally fast and efficient. We had an internal cabin which was adequate in size, pleasant decor, very comfortable bed, and efficient shower in the ensuite. The stewardess was very pleasant and efficient, like all the other ...
