The staff was always friendly and helpful, they were a pleasure to be with. Our room steward kept our room looking great, was unobtrusive and always friendly and engaging when we saw him. The service desk personnel were always helpful and were able to answer our questions and resolve what few issues we had. The restaurant and buffet staff were helpful and friendly as well, asking if we needed ...
The chance to see the Northern Lights and be on a Viking ocean cruise was an opportunity my wife and I couldn't pass up. Though we boarded the Venus two days late due to weather delays, we did get to spend a couple days in London which was unexpected and much fun.
The boarding process at Tilbury was okay, but it was quite chilly in the building where we waited to in-process before proceeding ...
Viking as usual did an efficient and professional job of getting us on and off board, and all onboard amenities were excellent as we expected they would be from previous voyages. There were a couple of changes due to weather, and Venus was late making port to embark us. It's the North Sea in February, and we weren't surprised. We got an extra 1.5 days in London in exchange for missing Amsterdam ...
We chose this cruise to spend 4 full days in the Arctic Circle so we could see the Lights a few times. It worked! We saw lights on our excursions and from the ship. The Captain does an announcement when the lights are visible.
Our sailing was delayed 2 days due to weather. That was a big win for us! The put us up in a lovely hotel in London with meals, drinks and and excursion paid for. ...
We have sail on 3 Viking rivers cruises and wanted to try their ocean cruises. We chose their Chasing Northern Lights sailing on the Viking Venus. First of all, we had the opportunity to see the lights 4 times. They are amazing. However, the cruise line has no control over sightings.
The ship was delayed for 2 days because of bad weather. True to Vikings reputation, they made the best of a bad ...

This cruise exhibited customer service at its best. Beginning at the airport on arrival through to boarding the plane at departure, the Viking staff were helpful, friendly, and efficient. Excursions were well planned, organized, and the guides very knowledgeable. Our favorites were “The Artic by Husky” and “Northern Lights at Paeskatun”. We enjoyed the gym and spa too. The ship was very clean, and ...
To fulfill my wife's bucket list. The food, cabin staff, waiters, cooks, and facilities were first class. Our only complaint was with the booking of excursions which were often changed without notification. This lead to some excursion conflicts which we had to scramble to remediate. Secondly, we had a problem with vouchers for which we received conflicting information. Overall, we had a ...
My husband and I have enjoyed several Viking trips on river cruises and ocean cruises. Viking Venus is a beautiful ship inside and out. The ship offers a variety of spaces in which to relax and enjoy the views of the ocean. Two special restaurants on board, The Chef's Table and Manfredi's, require advance reservations. Our cabin included 2 reservations in each restaurant. The World Cafe ...
What a way to mark off the items on your bucket list. from big ben to the northern lights. Beautiful sights and sounds in an atmosphere of great food, music, and service. from reindeer sleigh rides and dog sled rides this was (without a doubt) the most exceptional travel experience of our lifetime. beautiful cathedrals, museums, tasting, food and drink services, restaurant choices and music and ...
We’d never gone Far North before. It was a ‘bucket list’ cruise. The crew, waiters and cabin staff were faultless. The ship was an ‘Olsen ship’ and we’d sailed on Balmoral several years ago so it was familiar. The shows were very good and you’d not have believed how little time they had for rehearsals.
The talks were interesting but told you nothing about each destination. For that you had to ...
