Comfortable and safe return to cruising
"We can all find faults and claim to have had better (and, yes, we have sailed with top lines in the past), but being able to sail from Liverpool, UK with a reasonable drive (for us, similar to driving to Southampton) then non-crowded, extremely well-organised embarkation with smiling friendly staff made us feel relaxed immediately.More than acceptable, but not outstanding, wine in the drinks package; generally very good food choice and quality ingredients, with some of the best ice cream I've had at sea; generally attentive and smiling service in restaurant, in what are still difficult times...."Read More

We've just returned from a trip on the Borealis to Norway and the Shetland Isles, The staff were amazing and very attentive. The ship appeared clean, though I didn't see any anti virus sprays being used, just area's wiped down with the same cloth, that would of actually spread the virus. And we had lots of dust buddies under the beds. However, the beds were super comfy and the pillows, we ...

Always Amazing Fred.

Fred does not have big, all singing, all dancing ships but what he does have, is a service ethos that makes everything he does, all the more impressive. We sailed Fred on the Borealis for two weeks and enjoyed every minute because the service onboard was fantastic. Everyone, from our cabin stewardess to the bar and waiting staff, were friendly, professional and I believe genuinely wanted to ...

Disappointing first time cruise with Fred Olson

We chose this cruise because it sailed from Liverpool which is only thirty minutes away from were we live. We usually sail from Southampton. This is our 11th cruise and our first time with Fred Olson. I would like to start with the positives. Embarkation was quick. Our luggage was taken off us as we arrived and was in our cabin an hour later. We opted for an inside cabin. We usually have a ...

We were wary of returning to cruising as it is a very different world to our last cruise in December 2019 but we came home, having thoroughly enjoyed the cruise and having felt safe throughout the 11 daýs - so much so that we have booked another cruise for December. You could ask for nothing more, from Fred Olsen, to reassure you over Covid protocols. We can all find faults and claim to have had ...

We have completed this second cruise on Borealis, so am writing this with some further thoughts. The embarkation was a bad experience since the arrival place had been changed from the exhibition centre to an entrance between the Arena and the Convention centre, but we were not told in advance. We embarked on a day when there were some extremely heavy showers, but needed to leave our hotel during ...

Ship broke down in Portsmouth Ferry terminal

Borealis is a nice ship, and some areas have clearly been refurbished in few months that Fred Olsen have owned it. Our Ocean view room on deck 2 was clean, and the carpet was new. The shower flooded onto the floor every time we used it, so we created a dam with a spare towel to keep the water in. It didn't cause a particular problem for us, but we felt for the lady who had to service the room ...
