I had never been to Lisbon nor the other ports on the cruise. I also wanted to experience the new ship Muse and that was a mistake. Many of the crew members were not professional and the dining arrangements were horrible. The food in many instances was sub-par and with no flexibility of changing venues. Not having an open dining facility was a huge mistake which prevented guests to join one ...
We have 300 nights on Silversea and usually love the experience they have to offer. We are well known to the staff, whom we love. This time, we sailed for 28 nights from Lisbon to Montreal in September 2017, six months after the launch of the ship (plenty of time to work out the kinks).
Unfortunately, the Silver Muse did not provide any luxury despite the hype in the brochures and the extreme ...
We did explore Lisbon for one day before the cruise. We did a "hop on/hop off" tour and it was wonderful. We stayed at the Lisbon Intercontinental Hotel, booking that through Silversea. We opted to get a cab to the ship which was much less than using Silversea transfer. The staff at the Intercontinental were great. The Silversea rep told me that since I had booked the room through Silversea I ...
We were very disappointed in our Silver Sea experience as were a lot to the people on board the new Silver Muse. The food was OK is you could get into a one of the dining areas. There is no main dining area so each meal you must make a reservation for the dining experience... this is an extremely tough experience if you are a first time guest on the Muse because all of the good reservations and ...
Having spent 28-days on a back to back cruise from Lisbon to Montreal, I am reflecting on a variety of mixed feelings about the Silver Muse and Silversea, in general. I tried to focus on the positive aspects of the cruise and the gratitude I feel for being able to afford to sail on Silversea for an extended period. However, there were many aspects of this cruise that just didn't meet the standard ...
For us, this was cruise #10 on Silversea. We have sailed on all their "big" ships and the "Expedition" to Antarctica. We have also sailed on at least four other lines.
The "Muse" is a sparkling, open, inviting ship. The cabins are large and well laid out. The bathrooms have large sinks, counter tops and shelf areas. The ship was completely full but never felt crowded.
The staff, as ...
We love Silverseas cruises, this is our 5th with the company, our 4th ship and the first on the newest addition to the fleet, Silver Muse.
Our cabin (Deluxe Balcony) was just as good as we've had on Whisper and Shadow, and our cabin attendants were fabulous. We can't rate the butler and his associate highly enough, especially during the few days I was ill. That's a consistent feature of ...
The ship was laid out fine. But it was larger than my preference.
Should have been 1 more night in Honfleur and 1 night less in one of the other 2 night ports, so people could see Honfleur as well as Normandy beaches
Some of the excursions were mediocre - Gijon/Aviles and La Coruna/Betanzos
arranging dining was a chore. it interfered with our pleasure. There should be more indoor dining ...
As longtime cruisers, we were excited to check out the Silver Muse. What could be better than a brand new ship? We were not disappointed. The ship itself is stellar--beautiful public space, smartly designed outdoor space, perfectly appointed cabins, great decor, etc.
Because we were proactive in planning our dining way in advance, the "no main dining room" and "reservations required" policy ...
First of all, Muse is a beautiful ship and of course because she is new, everything is sparkly and bright. This was our first time on Silversea so I can only compare to other cruise lines. Service was wonderful and always delivered with a smile. Our suite was very nice with lots of storage and nice touches, e.g. a jewelry case that fit inside the safe. The main negative has been discussed over ...
