Luxury?

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Seven Seas Explorer

Just completed 2 b2b cruises, last one being a transatlantic. In good conscience, I will have to give the Explorer 4 stars. It is a pretty ship, although with some jarring and too glitzy decor. The much touted “art” looks like something purchased by the yard in a warehouse. Some very nice art glass pieces in various locations. Many comfortable lounges and places to relax. The staff is ...

We chose this cruise for its itinerary having sailed from Dubai to Cape Town via East Africa with Regent three years ago (a cruise which rated as one of the best we have ever done). A bonus was a chance to sail on the Explorer. We chose the pre-cruise experience on offer in Lisbon as the post cruise with a Safari meant coming home on Christmas Day! Pre-Cruise - Lapa Palace - good hotel but ...

Luxurious Ship BUT

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Seven Seas Explorer

The ship is absolutely beautiful - both public spaces and cabins. Like a very luxurious hotel. By appearances, you could easily forget that you were on a cruise ship - more like being at a Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons, and our Explorer Suite category cabin was extremely comfortable. But that was the problem. It was all about appearances. That may be enough for some, and you would not be ...

Simply extraordinary!

We took a our first cruise on Regent in May from Lisbon to London and we were blown away. We have taken Crystal in the past on some 15 cruises, and now we find ourselves remiss for patronizing a good cruise line (Crystal) when there was such a much finer cruise line (Regent) out there. Regent beats Crystal in room quality, service, staff, food, athletic facility, spa, public areas, embarkment, ...

We are just about done with the cruise in 2 days...we have done a lot of traveling and while the ship is very nice and food quality it high-the real purpose of the trip was to see the local history, culture etc and by far this trip had the worst excursions we have ever experienced. So I'm not going to focus on the ship or food but on the reason at least we came and that was to see the UK and ...

We have cruised at least 6 times on the Explorer. It is a beautiful ship with wonderful service and great food. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The complimentary wine selections were very good. The five restaurants offer a great variety of dinning for diner. The main dining room, Compass Rose, is very attractive and offers a great variety of dinning options. One half of the menu ...

Explorer Fourth Sailing

Review for a Spain Cruise on Seven Seas Explorer

Booked this cruise to celebrate a milestone birthday and because of the hype of the new Explorer. Reading the other reviews, I must say I found the same things lacking. By the fourth sail of the Explorer I thought many of the kinks would be fixed. The service levels were just not as crisp as previous experience with Regent. The entertainment was mediocre at best. The excursions were okay, ...

Worried about Regent

We chose this cruise because we are Regent fans, wanted to try the new ship, and were interested in the itinerary. We loved the new design of our cabin. The closet was a more workable shape, the bathroom huge, the drawer space beyond adequate, and the bed facing the sea delightful. The redistribution of restaurant space between the venues was a welcome change as was the variety of venues offering ...

Lisbon to Barcelona - a Great Cruise on RSS Explorer

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Seven Seas Explorer

This is the first time we have cruised on a ship bigger than 450 passengers – previously having sailed on the chic Club Med 2 (twice) and Regent’s Navigator (3 times). So we were apprehensive about upscaling but the draw of cruising on ‘the most luxurious ship ever built’ was too tempting to avoid. Is it the most luxurious? – we have not enough cruising experience to really say but Explorer is ...

Fabulous cruise on Regent Seven Seas Explorer

Absolutely fabulous. The new ship is beautiful. Our F2 Superior suite was beautiful. The bed was comfy, the bathroom huge with tub and shower, big walk-in closet, and more storage than we could use. The staff was great and it was great to see some familiar staff from previous Regent Cruises. The new Pacific Rim restaurant was superb and we ate there several time and ordered almost the same ...
