We chose this cruise for the ports as there were quite a few we had not been to previously. We particularly wanted to go to Cinque Terre which we visited from Livorno. We also had the opportunity to have an overnight in Lisbon - a fabulous city.
We found both the food and the service outstanding. The buffet was so good that we never went to the main dining room in the evenings. However we ...
The boat is beautiful, the service wonderful. The other travelers were terrific. Aside from some issues with the cabin, it was an ideal trip. There were a couple of ports that weren't worth a stop, but maybe they needed to - and the prices of the excursions are prohibitive. We started by just putting a few in the "cart" online and the price was as high as the entire cruise with just a few days ...
We selected this cruise based on the itinerary. We wanted to spend some time in Portugal before boarding the ship. We also appreciated the fact that the airfare was included in the cruise package. We were able to change our flight departure for a nominal fee to accommodate the five pre-cruise days spent in Porto and Lisbon. We were also able to fly to a different city at the end of the cruise, at ...
Close friends cruise with Oceania on this ship every year, sometimes twice a year, so our maiden voyage on the Riviera came with high expectations.
Overall we weren't disappointed. We occupied a PHI penthouse suite on deck 11. The accommodation was both spacious and elegant with walk-in wardrobe, flat screen TV, a spacious verandah and one of the most comfortable beds we've slept in. One ...
We were interested to see how Oceania compared with Azamara, who we had cruised with a couple of years ago.
On the plus side, the service on Oceania was the best I've ever had. For example, my husband takes dissolvable aspirin with his meals, and one of the wait staff in the buffet noticed, and offered to bring a glass of tepid water (they dissolve better in this).
Our cabin steward was lovely - ...
Shipboard food was excellent. We tried all 4 of the specialty restaurants, as well as the main dining main dining, and Terrace room. Service there was all very good with a high number of waiters, busboys who knew their stuff.
Ports were pretty much one a day, with the exception of one day at sea. Ship expeditions were good, but pricey for a 50 passenger busload. Changing expedition reservations ...
We just returned from this cruise and I wanted to make sure I posted a review because it was such a wonderful experience. My husband and I cruised with Oceania last year on the Nautica Athens to Istanbul cruise and loved it. We booked the Lisbon to Rome tour while on board last year (nice discount!) and upgraded from a concierge level veranda to a penthouse 3. Based on our great experiences with ...
We are just back from the 10-day Oceania "Iberian Odyssey" cruise on Riviera that departed from Lisbon on September 12 and ended in Rome on September 24. The weather was great with only one day of rain and temperatures being very comfortable.
We went on this cruise with two other couples of the same age (66). This was our eighth cruise -- having been on Azamara, Royal Caribbean, Costa, ...
We traveled on Azamara's Quest July of 2011 along the Dalmation Coast and Oceania Riviera June of 2012 Western Mediterranean, both with our college-aged children. We enjoyed both trips and would be happy to travel with either ship again in the future! The two lines appear to be competing for the same clientele, so we would recommend you go with the better deal and the ports that interests you ...
We spent 10 fabulous days aboard Riviera. The ship is decorated and furnished both beautifully and tastefully. The artwork is impressive. My wife and I were celebrating my 50th birthday. We are very active and love to cook and eat and socialize. Because there was only one Riviera review prior to sailing due to being a new ship, we only had the Marina reviews to go on and were hopeful that we ...
