Review for Wind Surf to World Cruise

6-10 Cruises

This ship is falling apart at the seams and the owners don’t care about what passengers have to endure on board. Departure was delayed by 5 hours waiting for staff. My room had not been cleaned or set up. The deck was unfinished and unpainted. The front desk staff was ill equipped to handle all the passengers issues as they embarked. As a solo traveler my problems were not directly ...

Review for Viking Torgil to Europe - River Cruise

This was our fourth Viking River Cruise, ( plus one ocean vcruise), and our first that included a tour before the boat. The hotel in Lisbon was elegant, one of the best we’ve stayed at. The included excursions were great, as almost all Viking included excursions are. On the third morning we bussed to Vila Nova de Gaia, across the Douro from Porto, with a stop in the university town of Coimbra. ...

Uniworld Queen Isabel disappoints

I have sailed with Uniworld twice before and with Viking a few times. I chose this sailing because of the beauty of Portugal and the friendliness of its people. Although the scenery was lovely, people do need to understand that the regulations on the Douro only allow for sailing during daylight hours. This means very limited time in port and a lot of time on the ship. Also, except for Porto, ...

Luxury?

Review for Seven Seas Explorer to Transatlantic

Just completed 2 b2b cruises, last one being a transatlantic. In good conscience, I will have to give the Explorer 4 stars. It is a pretty ship, although with some jarring and too glitzy decor. The much touted “art” looks like something purchased by the yard in a warehouse. Some very nice art glass pieces in various locations. Many comfortable lounges and places to relax. The staff is ...

My husband and I love smaller ships with a little luxury thrown in. We have enjoyed plenty of cruises on larger ships when the children were growing up but discovered the joys of 5-6 star cruises recently. We chose WindSurf as it fitted in with our dates and embarkation was in our home city of Lisbon. From the moment we arrived at the port we realised this was going to be something special. The ...

Review for Crystal Serenity to Transatlantic

We just returned from another fabulous Crystal transatlantic crossing (our 5th) on Crystal Serenity. Crystal seems to just get better every year and a transatlantic crossing is the best way to take advantage of all the ship (and the cruiseline) has to offer. With only about 800 people on a good-sized ship, the ship is small enough to seem intimate, but large enough to have multiple activities ...

MSC is deteriorating

Embarkation was quick and smooth. The Preziosa is a beautifull ship with a good layout. We were cruising in an Aurea suite which includes the ‘Easy’ drinking package, massage and spa access. Overall food quality is below average, in the buffet hot food is just warm. If you’re looking for Nutella or something alike they refer to the shop where you can buy(!) it. Never heard that one before. At ...

Some pleasant times, some disappointments

We have sailed with Silversea three times now. This time, we joined Silver Whisper in Lisbon and headed north. Our cabin was comfortable and well positioned. Generally, the food was good, though we found La Dame unexciting. The wait staff, bar staff, butlers and stateroom staff were lovely and helpful. The talks were interesting, the entertainment varied and a little patchy. Loved the jazz group. ...

Me and my boyfriend (30 and 37-both Greeks) decided to sail for the second time with MSC Preziosa because the first cruise was just fantastic and we loved the vibes of beeing in such an amzing ship! We sailed at October 2018 for a 9 nights cruise to Genoa, Malaga, Casablanca, Lisbon, Barcelona, Marseilles. We had a great experience overall. THE SHIP. The ship is absolutely amazing. Big, ...

This was our 6th Oceania Cruise, 3 on each Riviera and Marina. This size of ship suits and have not tried the smaller ones. We booked our flights independently and flew to Lisbon on the day of the cruise arriving at the terminal about 11am, had a quick coffee at the coffee shop next to the cruise terminal and a Pasteis de Nata which was delicious. Embarkation was quick and efficient and we ...
