Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Viva

Having read a lot of negative reviews of Prima I was a little sceptical about booking Viva. We did it anyway and I'm so glad we did. It did not disappoint at all. In fact in my mind it proved a lot of haters wrong. But hey, I'm a positive person who looks forward and not to the past so maybe that's why ? In short we loved 95% of Viva and yes there are a few issues, which we fully recognise ...

A beautiful brand new ship

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Viva

First time to the Mediterranean, we chose this beautiful brand new ship to embark on. Reasons for choosing this ship were mainly the karting track, thermal spa, and itinerary. We opted for the 2nd guest flies free, 2 specialty dining package among the Free at Sea promotion offerings. I traveled with my husband, 5 year old son, brother-in-law, and mother-in-law and had connecting balcony rooms on ...

This was my 18th cruise and I have never EVER experienced anything like this. The ship felt very comfortable and bright. You can notice that the ship is designed for warm weather, with all the waterlides etc.You can really see that NCL has evolved! The food was delicious, the only time I've had so nice food onboard was on my Celebrity Beyond cruise. The emtertaintment was faboulous, I really never ...

This was my second cruise with swan Hellenic. Second one on the Vega. Did not think they could top the first one but they did. Extraordinary service, wonderful food and the friendliest crew imaginable made it another memorable cruise. The crew seemed to be so happy to be with you that they made you feel right at home. Cabin was roomy and beautiful , full size sliding glass door unto the balcony. ...

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on L'Austral

John and I were delighted to discover this one-off food- and wine-centric itinerary on the L’Austral. We enjoy the French ambiance, excellent food, and great wine onboard Ponant’s ships. This cruise promised more of the same by including a Michelin-starred guest chef, guest experts on wine and cheese, and special wine and gastronomic events. The Ponant Corporate Chef was also onboard this ...

Western Carribean Cruising in Spring

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Silver Dawn

This was our second time sailing with Silversea. The first was last year on the Silver Moon which is Silver Dawn's twin sister. The food on Silversea's is very upscale regardless of whether you do the standard dining options or pay for the premium restaurants. Our favorite was a premium restaurant called Kaiseki. It is a Japanese styled restaurant that serves sashimi's, different seafood ...

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Orchestra

We really enjoyed this cruise, as we do most. The ship is about 15 years old, but was kept in fantastic condition. The ship so white on the outside, no rust to be seen. All staff encountered were friendly and fun. Our balcony on deck 11 was nice. Only negative, they could update the TV to something a little larger. Loved all the large mirrors in the room to make the area feel bigger than it ...

Having the possibility to board directly in Lisbon, made all the difference. This was my first MSC cruise and I enjoyed it very much. The employees were outstanding at all levels! Many thanks and praises to the staff at the Ville Bourgeoise restaurant, you are the best!!! Also, at the buffet diniung, despite the number of guests, they were always very empathetic and professional. The ...

Small Ship, Friendly Staff, Amazing Entertainment, Fabulous Itinerary

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Orchestra

When searching for my third cruise and having experienced more premium offerings, i discovered this 10 day western Medi itinerary. Immediate concerns were that i heard MSC was an average cruise line, in the same club as RCL and Carnival. So what did i thought? Ok, we will have the ports. The food, staff, ship will be secondary. Completely wrong idea. Lets review by items: Ship: recently ...

Oceania Still Delivers Post-Pandemic, Albeit a Bit Differently

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Marina

User Avatar

Like many avid cruisers, we had several much anticipated cruises cancelled during the pandemic that shut down much of the world in 2020 and 2021. Our cruise, Iberia to Italia, was one of the first aboard Marina, the first of Oceania's ships to return to service post-pandemic. Prior to providing details of our experience it's important to note that there were still a great many COVID restrictions ...
