Wanted to visit Portugal Never done a river cruise before This came up with the dates we wanted, and it was day to book. Flights were changed a couple of times. The food is good but not up to the standard we have come expect on Ocean cruises, and the choice was more limited, though most people thought it excellent Most of the excursions are included as well as, transfers, drinks ...

We have been fortunate to have travelled with Emerald previously and have really enjoyed the experience, have to say this is without doubt the best. Hard to identify why but scenery and the fantastic crew stand out for mention. From the moment we stepped onto the Ship we felt comfortable and well looked after, the service levels are just right, not pushy but just right. The staff and I mean ...

We booked this cruise in April 2019 to travel in August 2020. It was cancelled because of Covid and we rebooked for July 2021 however this was cancelled as well but we were offered a booking for 7th August at short notice. We accepted this gladly as we were ready for a holiday. We booked a Panorama Balcony Suite on the Horizon Deck and I knew it would be lovely as we have been on three other ...

This cruise is sold as Evergreen in Australia and is the "budget" line for Scenic. Not quite so plush and not all-inclusive. However it is a good choice for those who may not want to do all the tours (walking tours were included as was a night at a winery) and a real highlight was Salamanca. The food is just as good as on any river cruise. I particularly enjoyed sampling the Portuguese ...

This cruise was part of a 21 day Lisbon to Nice Package put together by Emerald / Evergreen as it’s known in Australia.. So this will be a trip report and review on the boat itself.. We arrived in Lisbon a day early, which I recommend..Evergreen ( E) still picked us up from the airport ...there were three couples doing that... so when we got out through customs we found the Emerald sign very ...

Great ship with a fully Portuguese crew who are passionate about their country

This was our second cruise with Emerald, and based on the wonderful week we had, it won't be our last. The ship is smaller than most other European river cruise ships as the locks are shorter, but those locks are an integral part of your journey, several being over 30 metres deep. The Douro is beautiful, with just about every hillside covered in vineyards or olive groves, spectacular scenery ...
