Overall, the cruise was great (crew, food, expeditions, staff, etc)....my problem is with the room and, more specifically, Lindblad's deceptive advertising that resulted in my girlfriend and i paying around $8000 more for a standard room. Don't be fooled, despite what Lindblad shows on their website, other than suites, all rooms on the ship regardless of "Category" are exactly the same and they ...

Day 1: Met at airport for charter to Puerto Barries. Overall pretty easy process. We did have issue with security line timing, and interesting to learn the guide with us didnt know Spanish, so was unable to communicate with the official, however all was resolved. Immigrations was a nightmare, partially because 2 minutes before our flights took off, our tour group starting handing out numerous ...

The variety of wildlife and cactus and the successful efforts of the Ecuadoran government to preserve the ...

It sounded close enough to the US, but varied, with 5 days aboard and 5 days ashore. What no one at National Geographic or Lindblad told me was that this was the inaugural trip; worse yet was that the trip had not been tested on anyone. I paid an inordinate amount, retail, no discount, to be someone's guinea pig. So, I still, after three months, have a really bad taste in my mouth because I've ...

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on National Geographic Sea Lion

We have traveled all over the world and decided to take a quiet small Lindblad/Nat. Geo cruise for health reasons. We chose the Panama Canal and Costa Rica. IT WAS BY FAR THE WORST TRIP WE'VE EVER HAD. The boat itself was not well maintained - dirt and rust spots all over (we were later told it was going to be replaced soon). The first room we were assigned smelled so badly of mold and ...
