The cruise itself was ok, but I am writing to get the word out that ALL of my kids came home with bed bugs! I am freaking out and worried if we now brought them in our house. CDC.gov website says that it can take up to 14 days for bites to appear once bitten, but Royal Caribbean is doing nothing about it since the bites appeared the day after we returned home. I reported it with our cabin ...
This was a repositioning cruise as this ship moves it's homeport from Newark to Galveston. A nice, primarily Eastern Caribbean itinerary with Curacao and Grand Cayman as well. Most of the passengers had flown to New York from Texas, but there were also a fair number of Europeans on board, looking for some hot weather before their winter. They got it, as it was still quite hot in the Caribbean ...
Me and my wife actually were recommended this cruise via a small tour company who we had used for booking Jamaica airport transfers and tours before when we went to Montego Bay, Jamaica. And it was our first cruise so we didn't know what to expect, but it turned out to be one of the most wonderful experiences of our lives. The customer service on the Royal Carribbean Independence of the Seas was ...
For those planning to sail in the LIberty of the Seas:
EMBARKATION: BAD!!!! If it rains, you will get wet, waiting in line for almost 1 hour to get into the checking area (a warehouse)
SHIP: BEAUTIFU!!!
FOOD: HORRIBLE!!, pasta sauce salty and rest of meals with no taste. Desserts ...well, what desserts? no variety, I had breakfast (good) and lunch (bad) at the Windjammer and dinners in the Main ...
Just thought others should know what we experienced during this 5 night trip on the Liberty of the Seas just last week. AWFUL service from the staff all around, the ship was filthy with not even an appearance of staff trying to clean up, the ship is dated and used (the mini-golf grass area/lighting is worn through and broken), etc... This is our 4th cruise on RC - Liberty was our first cruise 5 ...
I am a seasoned cruiser with a solid basis for comparison. I take my cruising, my money and my fun pretty seriously. Having said that, my first time adventure on the LOS was impeded by one speed bump after another.
Speed bump #1: Switch and bate cabins. If you are looking at RC's website for any indication of room specifications, don't bank of it. I upgraded from a deluxe balcony room ...
Embarkation was fairly easy - arrived at the port 11:15 and were on within 30 minutes. Although the ship is in very good condition, I probably won't sail her again...I was on the Allure during her maiden voyage and was a bit spoiled! It seems RCCL is cutting back to curb costs. I missed the pillow chocolates, I did not miss all the paper promotional materials that are usually left every day. ...
Being first-time cruisers, we have nothing to compare our vacation to. Consequently, we immediately admit our review could be considered a bit naive. Nevertheless - this was an exceptional way to spend time together, meet some nice folks and be a little bit pampered.
Stayed the night before at the Sheraton, but won't do that again. Expensive, the cool bar closed early (the loud one was open, ...
We live in So. Florida so for us the port was a hop skip and a jump. We arrived at the port at 11 A.M. and were on the ship by 11:30 A.M.
The check in desk was extremely organized and moved quickly.
once on the ship, we went to the Windjammer for lunch. Many people, but all went smoothly. Food was good and service was excellent.
Our cabin on deck two was surprisingly quiet and the view was ...
We arrived by Southwest Airlines into Ft Lauderdale, caught the GO shuttle to Miami. Very easy to do! $20.00pp, 45 min & It dropped us off right in front of the terminal. Embarkation wasn't as much of a hassle as it had been in other ports, unless you are cruising on Carnival Liberty & you are holding up the security line because you are in the wrong terminal :}. That was all we had to wait on ...
