Beautiful ship but not well thought out
"They filled up awfully fast on this past cruise (though we did have to skip 2 ports due to weather, so that could be why they were so busy).Could have just been because it was a Christmas cruise, but my first experience with NCL last Christmas had only about 100 kids...."Read More

Norwegian Prima Transatlantic NYC/Iceland May 2023

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Prima

We choose this cruise to experience the new NCL Prima. This ship is different from any of NCL's other ships. The cabins are large and nicely appointed. All entertainment venues are much too small. Reservations are required for the production shows. This was a 12 day cruise and they only had one production show....this is unacceptable. All the other entertainment venues are so ...

We had a nice time on Prima

A repositioning cruise to Iceland really had us excited. We like and sail Norwegian more than the competition but we have enjoyed them all. It was a real plus to sail on the newest ship in the fleet. We were concerned about some of the unflattering reviews we saw, but we kept an open mind about it. I am just comparing this experience to the 25 +/- other cruises we have been on. Here is what ...

Not Impressed

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Prima

We are on day 4 of our Bermuda cruise on the Prima, and so far not a fan. As avid NCL cruisers, we were very excited about this trip, but it’s been a disappointment. While the ship is pretty, the utilization of public spaces is abysmal. Less people on board overall, but feels EXTREMELY crowded. You have to wait forever for an elevator, and very difficult to get seating in any public space or ...

Terrible service, poor value for money

It was the worst cruise experience by far. The ship is designed in a way that Haven guests are preferred. As a regular passenger you just walk around those closed areas. Not enough space to spread out, too small and dark restaurants, too much staterooms compared to the very limited entertainment/public space. There is basically only one deck where you can relax. But all of it would be nothing if ...

Terrible

To start our vacation our flight from Toronto was at 7 am. When we got to La Guardia the staff were very helpful but we had to wait in the coach for the transfer to the ship and were not even offered a bottle of water. Once on the ship, we had to queue to make reservations for both restaurants and shows which “sold out” fast!! By this time, which was well after 1 pm, we were famished and ...

Worst cruise ever!

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Prima

Dining rooms service stink, staff not friendly throughout shoot, kids areas disgusting and dirty-out of sanitizer and would not replace, rides broken, slides broken, pool broken, hot tub broken, VR machines broken. It smelt like sewer near the kids area, everything very disorganized, embarkation and disembarkation was a mess-crazy and unorganized-people fighting with each other. My husband wasn’t ...

Hope You Like Waiting In Lines and Being Disappointed!

My experience for the Prima (4/23) Check-in Process: C- During the online check-in, why do we need to upload photos if they take them at the normal check-in? The online check-in should expedite the embarking process and save time but it did not. We were one of the first to arrive (10:30 am). We arrived early, checked bags quickly, got through security quickly, and ended up being the ...

An awesome & beautiful ship--if you know what to expect

Norwegian Prima has been slammed a lot on these boards, but I was able to have a great time by doing a bit of research beforehand-like reading these CC Reviews. Here are a couple of tips that I can offer in turn: 1. Reserve dining, entertainment and shore excursions ASAP-as soon as your booking window opens. Mine happened to open on Christmas Eve. Thinking that no one would be reserving on ...

Big disappointment!

My husband and I were truly excited about this cruise, first since before Covid, new ship to try. Boy were we shocked from the embarkation (waited for 3 hours at Newark because the transfer company Norwegian uses could not find a bus to take 20+ Passengers to the ship), all the way through the trip. The ship is beautiful and our cabin was larger than most balcony cabins and we lucked out having ...

Great Prima Cruise

Wanted to travel to Bermuda and try out the Prima. Overall , it is a very nice ship with a upscale feel. Only got turned around a few times , but the layout was easy to master after a few days. The key is to travel on your stateroom deck to the proper elevator bank then go up/down. The cruise had about 3600 with 700 kids so it was pretty full, but no problem finding an elevator with minimal wait ...
