Transatlantic Crossing

Review for Sea Cloud to Transatlantic

2-5 Cruises

Me and my wife are sailors since appr. 1976. We own a sailboat in the Mediterranean sea . Because my wife don`t share my dream crossing the Atlantic on own keel and I refuse to go on board of one of those terrible looking large cruising ships, we find the Sea Cloud as good compromise for both of us. Sea Cloud is a legend and has a special character. That`s why we choose it. On a trans shore ...

Good but could be better

Review for Marella Discovery to Transatlantic

My partner usually cruises with Royal Carribean however I Persuaded her to try Thomson. The ship is impressive being an ex Royal Carribean ship however Thomson appear to be still trying to get a grip of running a bigger ship. The evening entertainment was good on most nights and the variety excellent. The entertainment during the day around the pool could have been better and more varied. The ...

NO COMPARISON

Review for Star Flyer to Transatlantic

I had a wonderful crossing on the Flyer in Oct. 2015 and booked early to secure a good cabin this year. Overall, there was no comparison with last year. I am not going to moan about things that are outside anyone's control ( poor winds, virus outbreak, no internet ), but my main complaint ( and that of many others ) was that the on- board entertainment was abysmal! I know, from before, that ...

What a great time we had on the Thomson Dream for the transatlantic cruise 'Beyond the Sunset'. We chose to embark in Gran Canaria, then enjoyed stops in La Gomera & Cape Verde before crossing the Atlantic to the Caribbean. I'll admit to having reservations about the 5 days at sea but 36 hours were shaved off this due to a medical emergency on bored. However the days went quickly & were ...

We flew from Gatwick to Las Palmas to join the Dream on December 5th, 2015 for a 17 day cruise across the Atlantic. Embarkation onto the ship was swift and painless. As we had sailed on her before we found our own way to our cabin which was on deck 5, outside No 50187. Pleasantly surprised to find how big the cabin was, as we previously had an outside plus. It had a nice square window, a sofa and ...

Crossing the Atlantic the right way!

Review for Star Flyer to Transatlantic

You can cross the Atlantic Several ways; cruise liner, plane or swim if you've got the time and energy. But the best way, in my opinion, is on Star Flyer, a four masted barque built for the job. You will find lots of reviews of the ship on line but in essence the ship specialises in recapturing the days of the clipper ships but a tad more luxurious for the modern day passenger. The return rate is, ...
