Some lovely restaurants attended by excellent waiting staff. Three of the six restaurants have an additional charge applied. Most of the food was very good with only one or two disappointing meals experienced during our week long stay.
The bars look very 70's but were also well attended.
The cabins are a bit bland whilst the communal parts of the ship appear very dated. My wife and I enjoyed ...
My wife and I have just returned from our first 7 day Western Mediterranean cruise aboard the Tui Discovery. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and found pretty much everything to be complete opposite to some of the highly critical reviews we read before departure which made us a little apprehensive.
All of the staff and crew were friendly and helpful with particular mention to Leah our cabin ...
Getting on the ship was speedy enough and we did queue for some unexplained reason, that happened coming off as well.
Of the whole cruise it was the rooms that put us off this cruise as they are so small and extremely dated, but kept very clean. The ship was kept very clean throughout.
Service at the bars was very good as even with a sizable queue you didn't need to wait long.
As with the rooms ...
this ship is small and crowded. you have to queue for everything. if you don't get in broadway lounge or libertes one hour before the shows you have no chance of a seat and people like the same seats every night !!
the hemingways bar is only small and fills up very quickly try horizons on deck 9 its lovely and people don't go up as much.there is a vibration all through the ship all the time I ...
This was our first ever cruise and as a repositioning cruise, it was very reasonably priced. When we booked, there were no single person supplements so we decided to book one balcony room and an inside room to save money and to compare.
The balcony room was twice the size of the inside cabin, although still an adequate size if you plan on only using it for sleeping, showering etc the inside cabin ...
we were not informed at the time of the booking that the child activities start at the age of 3, which was the main driver for us to book this type of package. We were informed that our daughter (at the time of the cruise 2 years and 10 months old, fully independent, attending daycare since she was 4 months old) can participate in the activities, when we are in the room with her. We tried it once, ...
We joined the ship on 24th September an all inclusive trip x 7 days. Busy day for the crew on change over day.
Is was a full complement of passengers .
We were also on this ship in 2009 .
Allocated cabin 5528 small but functional chipped salmon pink wash basin shower cubicle was OK for average build of passenger , mattress a bit worn ,no hair-dryer for my partner.(you can hire one from ...
Okay the ship is not the most plush ship in the world but then after having some 1500 passengers go through it's doors and corridors every one/two weeks you can't expect it to be! After reading reviews on here I very nearly cancelled but i'm so glad i didn't! We had an amazing time. The ship is as described, very relaxed although if you chose to wear refineries no one batted an eyelid. The cruise ...
Read loads of reports on forums and agree with most of the 3 star ratings. We also have some friends who have been on this ship before.
Some things people find fault with are ridiculous. Plastic plates drop the ratings. Who's bothered if the plates are plastic???
Overall enjoyed the cruise but there are some issues mainly due to the fact this ship is a converted ferry. If we go on another cruise ...
This was our first cruise and first package holiday! I traveled with my mother who is in her 60s and we usually enjoy city breaks, Barcelona being one of our favourites but decided this year that a cruise would be a great way to see the city sights we like with a bit of relaxation thrown in!
We were drawn to this ship from its description as informal and laid back on the website, we also were ...
