We got permission to board down the line, embarking one port after Rome, on the ship 14 nights with few stops, disembarking in Ft. Lauderdale. WE needed a transatlantic transport from Europe at this time and the location for the ship departure was perfect for us. The ship was beautiful, and cabin service was excellent. Michael's Club service was terrific as well, and I strongly suggest traveling in a cabin class that includes it, if you are able to part with the money to secure this type of cabin; for free drinks, plus bottled water, energy drinks, coffee and tea. The concierge in Michael's Club was also helpful in more ways than one. We tried a few specialty dining options (having spent 10 days on land in Italy before then, so skipped a few of the options). The main dining room is too crowded with not so fast service, tables close together and food is acceptable. The food in award winning Blue(don't know what award it received) is good, but nothing exceptional, with tables a little less close together. The sky suites main dining is Lumninae where we took most of our meals, and the service was good, but few options to choose from, so we also asked for the main dining menu; one time the pre-dessert trolley served stale food sweet items, and one time the lobster was so over cooked that it was like rubber and impossible to chew. I think that Celebrity is understaffing in the dining rooms where food is included in the fare, pushing guests to pay extra for other "speciality dining" options. Have no idea what's going on in the kitchen, but I will say that of all the lines we have traveled on this one we would rate below Holland America and Princess. The buffet got very crowded as not all restaurants are open for all meals, also no where open 24-7, and a few times we ate in the buffet for lunch, sitting next to uncleared stacked dirty dishes. The employees work hard, but there is probably a staffing issue. Lots of nickel and diming, for items for coffee, drinks of any kind, desserts, laundry, Internet, etc., and personally, other than the fact that the cabin was spacious and beautiful, and the service was generally good with lovely people working the ship all the way around, we would rather opt for a more luxurious line where all is included. My husband had a bad experience in The Canyon Ranch Spa, as they are using high pressure sales techniques where you book one service, and they try to push you into an upgrade, asking you to sign, when you are too relaxed, and then find that you agreed to pay more money than for the initial service booked. If you are young and still astute enough, then you might be in a little more in control. If you want a mani or pedi, I highly recommend Grace; she was lovely and not pushy. The other issue, and a serious one in my opinion, is that the sky suites, 300 square feet plus private balcony, all of these sky suites are located up high under public areas that get cleaned at night and in to the wee hours of the morning. A sound diffuser will not block the sounds, but earplugs might; I forgot to bring mine, so if you're hard of hearing, this will not be a problem. The class of service for quiet cabins, those cabins are anywhere from 190-250 square feet, so for us, a couple traveling this amount of time, was too small. The views however from the sky suites, and from the two top decks are unsurpassed. Read Less
