Caribbean Cruise on the Jewel

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Jewel of the Seas

This trip consisted of two six night cruises back to back. The fist one did Costa Maya, Cozumel and Bimini. The second was the same except Nassau was substituted for Bimini. We had not been to Bimini so this was a treat as we have been to most ports of call in the Caribbean many times. It would be good to go there again and take a taxi into the town rather than going around to the various ...

I booked this trip whilst onboard Jewel OS in November. My hubby was working so this was a solo trip. Lovely cabin 7022 with oversized balcony - decent location. I love this ship and her sisters, perfect size and not popular with kids! The ship was spotless and in excellent shape (obviously six weeks offline were put to good use). I had a good time but there were a few differences than last ...

Let me begin by stating that I travel solo and have done so since 2013. This was to have been my first post pandemic cruise, but was too excited to wait and sailed the end of September on Allure. I had the at home covid test from the previous cruise and called e-med to ensure that it would still be valid. Luckily it was. This cruise was going to be a bit different due to mobility issues. I ...

Meeting with a group on this ship. Very ornate public spaces but not a very convenient layout. Elevators have some kind of foreign logic. We were passed by many times in the Atrium area by empty elevator cars going the way we wanted. After a few of these episodes I switched to stairs. The climb from my cabin on deck 4 to the gym made a good warm up for work outs. The people who served in the ...

PROS: -Our kids (4 and 6) loved the kids clubs as well as the kids pool area/waterslide -The staff throughout the ship were, as has come to be expected on RC, friendly and helpful -Overall the ship was very clean -Windjammer was good and on point with other Windjammers -The (basic) Wifi was not overly fast, but I found the coverage throughout the ship to be good -Labadee Wavejet ...

Wanted a short cruise to breakup winter in South Florida. Older ship , balcony room ok, but dated. Comfortable bed with good steward Iputu. Noisy neighbors. Staff was very friendly. Buffet was good, better than dining room. Food over all was good. We had 3 specialty restaurants that we enjoyed. Steak, Italian and Japanese. Very good wait staff in all venues. Weather did not permit watching ...

Great Staff, Dated Ship, Bad Dining

This was our first RCI cruise and we went as part of a group. The Jewel is a great sized ship with nice layout but a little past the point it should have been upgraded. RCI seems to do a lot to get more out of less, squeezing margins tighter to increase the bottom line. The good thing is that service has not suffered as the service in dining room, Windjammer and in the bars was very good to ...

Jewel of the Seas. I would not consider myself a "cruise Person." So take this review with a grain of salt if you wish. 1.Embarkation and disembarkation- Relatively smooth and problem free for my family of 5, i would say that was a general rule for most cruisers, as long as you have all of your paperwork in order.. No issues. 2. Food- I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food, ...

Royal Suite on Jewel of the Seas

This review is on the room only...not the service received. I think it is best, in this instance, and regarding the promised services, to observe the old adage: " If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all!" As of our November 2012 sailing,The royal suite is simply all I hoped it would be. There is a private hallway leading to the room, with the concierge lounge just steps away. ...

Ok, so I got a great deal on a balcony and booked this cruise. First let me say this is a beautiful ship. The design is a bit strange, but other than that, super impressed with the ship itself. As for the food...... well, let's just say, I guess they are putting some cost saving measures in place that trickle down to food quality. The dining room staff was great, as on every RCI cruise I ...
