Not great.

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Jewel of the Seas

Booked a smaller ship thinking that overcrowding wouldn’t be as big of a problem as in past cruises. Boy, was I wrong, and add to that a dated jalopy of a ship to spend a week on. Don’t waste your money on this pile of garbage unless you like the hum and flicker of CFL light bulbs that *might* work if you’re lucky. One of them in our stateroom was like a strobe light and two other lights just ...

Awful cruise

Lots of issues on this cruise. Entertainment: 1. All entertainment was geared to one group of people. Everything was in Spanish. 2. Whether you were in Safari Club, Vortex or in center by Christmas/bar, all entertainment was in Spanish. Disabilities: 1. There was no assistance for people with disabilities upon leaving for excursions. You were expected to walk down three flights of ...

Skip this outdated ship

From the outdated tvs to the bad attitude of staff, we found this ship to be one annoyance to another. The casino seemed like a rip off. I’m not sure I saw one person win anything in that casino. Folks were sitting at tables and just giving there money away. At one point I saw the blackjack dealer hit 6 blacks in a row and didn’t bust for half an hour. Very suspect. Don’t play here. The food ...

The first and last time sailing on Royal Caribbean

The first and last time sailing on Royal Caribbean. *Food: more variety than most cruise lines but inedible, always served cold at the buffet and main dining room worse than a school cafeteria.  The buffet took forever for the tables to be cleared, why not use carts to clear tables rather than removing a few plates at a time. My wife and I only went to the dining room twice on this 9 day ...

Will never travel RCL again!

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Jewel of the Seas

I would rather get a root canal then travel on this ship ever again or in fact any Royal ship. I felt it was worse than Carnival. Low budget with rude families that thought they were home in the ship's lounges - barefoot! No following the dress of the evening: Formal meant hats, shorts, no collared shirts and sneakers!!! No one said a word to these people from RCL! THIS WAS THE WORSE 6 DAY ...

Great deal on cruise and 4 new ports for us. Avoid this ship if you are a avid cruiser. Ship was NOT only rundown, but was VERY filthy, found a OLD plate of food under the bed, mattress was old, stateroom was dirty, no lotion in bathroom,, ran out of TISSUE with two days left in cruise, NO limes for a gin/tonic, no p-nuts for bars snacks in bar, no fresh fruit last two days,, windows were all ...

The worst cruise by far (33 cruises taken so far)

My son chose this cruise as a graduation trip, I was not sold on flying to San Juan, as we live in Florida, the cruising capital of the world, where many great ships call Florida home, boarding an older ship was not my choice, however my son mentioned the ship has been refurbished last year and had good reviews so my husband and I, as long as my daughter went along with his choice. We we also ...

Terrible Ship - Would never go on this ship again!!!!!!!!!

This ship was the worse that I have ever been on. The food was always cold. Restaurant & Buffet. You could not get food anytime you want. They were always running out of ice. The ice cream was runny. They charge you for room service. This ship was very very boring. The Shore excursions were great. They didn't make animal towels every day. We will never ever go on this ship again. Do NOT ...

Special Diet needs? Don't take Royal!

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Jewel of the Seas

Took Jewel of the Seas on 7 night Southern Caribbean. 1. I have lactose and gluten intolerance. I understand it is very limited diet and difficult to meet my needs, so dinners had to be pre-order 24 hrs in advance. I was fine with that. Unfortunately, for entire week, as side dishes, I was served baked potatoes, steamed broccoli and carrots. In the end of the cruise I was very tired of baked ...
