This was a great trip. The Jewel is one of the smaller ships but it was perfect for this intinerary because it was so port-heavy. I wouldn't reccomend getting the drink package on this one. It seems like a great idea at first but if you plan to leave the ship every day to visit the islands, it would be more economical to just buy your drinks individually.
We chose this cruise because we've ...
We chose this cruise because we like the Radiance class ships and for the port intensive itinerary. Here is a recap of our cruise and final thoughts after returning.
Recap & Final thoughts:
Pre Cruise stay: 2 nights at Condado Ocean Club. Premium Oceanview room. We really liked this hotel. It was clean and the bed was amazingly comfortable. Staff was helpful and friendly. The view from ...
This was my 4th Royal Caribbean Cruise but, my first with kids. I have only cruised with Royal Caribbean and have sailed on the Sovereign of the Seas (Sovereign Class Retired), Enchantment (Vision Class), and now the Jewel of the Seas (Radiance-class).
The Jewel is a Radiance-class cruise ship and holds about 2500 passengers. This was my first cruise since 2015. We traveled to Miami to board ...
We chose this cruise at the last minute as I was suddenly given a week off. We were on a balcony on the deck eight, mid-ship. Some things about the cruise were due to Oh Fortuna such as calm seas, perfect and not humid weather and aside from a two hour delay leaving Antigua due to a passenger sustaining a broken ankle, all ran smoothly.
The ship is very well laid out. There are eight ...
I thought the Jewel was a very cute ship for a shorter family cruise. It was our first cruise back into post pandemic shutdown. It was the week before Christmas and the ship was beautifully decorated. It was my family's first cruise and the ship was just the right size for them to figure out as newbies. The length of the cruise was just right, not to long or too short for new cruisers as well. We ...
Jewel of the Seas had such low rates we decided to work it in between our other Royal Caribbean cruises and were so glad we did! The ship was in excellent space, carpets, furnishings had a new feel to them. Service was outstanding, even the maintenance workers who do not come in contact that often with passengers were awesome and friendly. The ship had a very happy feel to it. The evening ...
I reside in South Florida with my wife and almost 5-year-old son, who has Asperger's. We recently returned from a Thanksgiving cruise on the Jewel of the Seas. We generally cruise about 1-2 times a year. Our last cruise was an 8-night cruise to the ABC islands on the Adventure of the Seas in December 2019.
I booked this cruise in December 2019 after Royal Caribbean announced that they were ...
We chose this cruise to get points closer to being diamond. I prefer the southern Caribbean to any other area and we really like Grand Cayman. We had never been to Curacao before so the tour there was very neat. We like the tour in Bonaire and were excited to actually see them harvest the salt. Wish we could have gotten closer to the flamingos but understand that they are wild animals that are ...
The Jewel is definitely just that!!!! A JEWEL. We loved this ship and had a marvelous cruise. Met some terrific staff from bar service to My Time Dining service. The Diamond Lounge is a great place for spending a couple hours meeting new friends and relaxing. Aline, the liaison in the DL, is a tremendous asset to RCI and the Jewel, as is Mark who is a great server. We also fell in love with ...
Just got back from the December 22 Southern Caribbean cruise aboard the Jewel of the Seas. The cruise was awesome with a perfect itinerary.
This was our second recent cruise on RCI. Our last one was on the Serenade of the Seas which is the same class as the Jewel of the Seas. While basically the same ship, the Jewel lacked the Pub which we loved on the Serenade. Other than that the ships ...
