We chose this cruise as it was a back to back (Cuban Fusion and Mayan Treasures) both of which we loved the itinerary of. The dream is a lovely old girl and stands up to the test of time beautifully. we chose Thomson because of the All-Inclusive nature of the package. It was great to check in our cases at Birmingham and not have to worry about them again, as they'd be delivered to our cabin door. Our cabin was an outside plus (Mid-Ships, Deck 9) and was lovely. plenty of room, for clothes and our cases stored neatly behind the settee. Bed was made up into a double and was one of the most comfortable we'd ever slept in on a holiday. Our housekeeper Cristina looked after us with an excellent service. All the staff were some of the most helpful we've ever come across and are a credit to Thomson, The Dream and her Captain. Food was always a treat and there was something for everyone. We did however really really enjoy the "Kora La" Asian Cuisine restaurant. the food was to die for and of sizable portions too. The entertainment was plentiful, varied and of an excellent standard. our twice daily Captain's update was one of our highlights' as he made his announcements amusing. I could go on and on about our experience aboard the Dream, however I won't. All I'll say is try her yourself. you wont be disappointed !!! Read Less

We chose this cruise for the itinerary (2 weeks to cover Southern Caribbean plus Cuba and Mexico on the second week). We had a wonderful time. The ship was smaller than others we have been on, but we couldn't fault it. Yes, it was an older ship, but beautifully maintained, clean, comfortable, very friendly staff, biggest cabin we have ever had, excellent food, always fresh and plenty of it, and the hot food hot! The Show Team who provided entertainment on stage every evening were fantastic, all of them so talented. Embarkation and disembarkation were efficiently run and there were lots of interesting places to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing Havana. As, expected, on sea days it proved more difficult to find sunbeds exactly where you would choose, but that was a minor problem, and there were plenty of other things to do, Unlike othe cruise companies, Thomson don't add tips to your bill. So if you are thinking of booking this cruise, don't worry about negative comments, as we read them, we wonder if these passengers were on the same ship! I have not long returned from the Thomson dream cruise that left from Montego Bay to Mexico, Havana and the Cayman Islands. I have never been on a cruise before and this one was in fact my wifes and my honeymoon. My wife had been on a Royal Caribbean cruise previously. I have seen a number of reviews that are critical about the age of the ship however I was totally impressed from the moment I boarded. Okay the pools are small but the deck area was lovely and I particularly loved the fact that if you left your sun lounger for any length, the stewards would remove your towels. There was plenty of time to go for food but it meant that people didnt abuse the loungers. The people on the ship seemed to come from all walks of life and everybody seemed to get on and were so friendly. The bar staff on the deck area were very attentive and all seemed to be happy and smiling. The breakfasts were lovely and the lunches and dinners were really varied and top notch. There wasa a hot dog and burger bar on the decks if you didnt want the restaurant foods. We did eat in the A la Carte restaurant on two occasions and again the food was superb and the waiters great fun. We tended to use the Medusa lounge during the evening. The entertainment staff were superb and made sure that they involved everybody in the various quizzes etc. A great big thanks to Rico, Joseph, Jovet and Jeff who served in the Medusa lounge bar. Fantastic entertainment and service. As I mentioned my wife has been on the Royal Caribbean before and she said she preferred the Thomson Cruise. We took out the drinks package and never felt pressured to tip. I loved the ports (Particularly Havana) and would thoroughly recommend this cruise. I look forward to my next one. Read Less
