Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Carnival Elation

This was my 3rd carnival cruise, 2nd out of JAX... first was the ecstasy, then sunshine out of Charleston then this ship again out of JAX. The ship itself was ok, clean rooms, pretty consistent with the other 2 carnival ships I've been on. One thing I love about carnival is their customer service. Everyone is so friendly and eager to help! My son (5) was obsessed with the camp ocean team he wanted ...

I read several reviews that mentioned this was a good option for a first time cruiser so we decided to try it out for our 25th anniversary. I brought a sign to decorate my door but it did not stick to the door so it appears they are not metal and I would suggest an adhesive hook for anyone considering door decorations. We were fortunate that our room was kind of in a corner so we didn't have ...

My favorite so far!

Loved the smaller ship the Elation. Wasn’t. Crowded at all and hardly any lines for food etc and was told it was at capacity. Perfect time of year also because children are in school. Jacksonville port was smaller and easy to navigate and you park right beside the ship. Half Moon Cay was the first stop and was the perfect low key beach day. Nassau was the second stop and was nice to see and had ...

We just returned from our cruise on the Elation, over all it was ok but the food was awful.we had a suite which was very nice. This was my husband’s first cruise but I’ve cruised before. The entertainment could definitely need some help and the prices on the drinks was very high as expected. The crew was nice on and off the ship was a easy process and Gabe was awesome!Overall I asked my husband would ...

Great Trip, Bad Food

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Carnival Elation

We chose this cruise as “first-time-cruisers”, learning every step of the way. We did everything from booking bunk beds, to booking late excursions and too early of a dinner time. Fortunately, Carnival is an amazing cruise line and did their best to ensure that we had an awesome time, and we sure did. The only thing that didn’t really sit well, was the food quality. The “dinner” served in the ...

The Beautiful Bahamas

I have not been to the Bahamas and my oldest granddaughter was begging to go anywhere on a cruise. She was out from college for the summer and this one was a good time for her to go. The water is absolutely beautiful as is the scenery. But don't go in the summer. It is so hot and humid. The areas we went were clean and nice. Prices for t-shirts and sweatshirts were 40,50,60 dollars. The ship was ...

Review for a North America River Cruise on American Star

We love American cruise lines. It is geared for the older population. You are treated with respect and compassion. The ship we were on, the American Star only holds about 100 passengers, but there were only 50+ passengers. It felt like having your own private yacht. The onboard entertainer Mark Farris was wonderful. The cruise director Jenn Starr was amazing. The guest speaker Dale was so ...

I’ve done 20+ on carnival. I chose this cruise out of Jacksonville because it was reasonably close and cheap. No way would I do this cruise if I didn’t cruise several times last year. I was very surprised and delighted how it has been refurbished. Everything is very clean and painted, with little rust. Bedside charging outlets are new. Huge flat screen. The crew was superb. The ...

This ship and itinerary offers an affordable and pleasant cruise experience, providing expectations are modest & reasonable...There are few bells & whistles and flashy wows on this vessel but it's a solid cruise. The twenty-five year old ship is a nostalgic blast from the past, a reminder of what cruise ships were like back-in-the-day. Some reviewers say she looks tired and worn but I see the ...

We were looking for a trip in the US and this one on the Intracoastal Waterway was a good deal compared to the same trip on the same boat with Road Scholar. Based on reviews on this site we weren't sure what condition the boat would be in. The boat had new carpeting and paint and was in good shape. The stateroom was good sized and comfortable. Our only issue was that the shower wasn't ...
