Firstly it reeked. It smells of sewage. The water they serve smells like sewage. Out of the 5 days we were cruising I can tell you I only had 1-2 decent meals. Bread served at every meal was hard and old. Food was always served cold. The buffet and dinning were the worst and least edible. We literally ate out of necessity. I can't even recommend food. Bring your own snacks and mostly survive on those. The staff were extremely inconsistent with rules and with policies that were literally posted for guests to read. Multiple times policies were ignored or changed at the discretion of the employee. We provided feedback several times when asked by staff. They literally just want to shove alcohol down everyone's throat and sell you stuff every 5 seconds. Oh and they painted without any regard for any guests or notification to guests. The fumes from the paint were horrid. I would not recommend this ship to anyone. I can't say much about others but I'd never get on this one again. The Bahamas was nice. If I ever cruise here again I'd plan to visit other islands while in Nassau. You can't really get to much from Princess Cays because they shuttle you there and back. I am 99% sure the next time I come will not be on a cruise ship. Save yourself the stomach aches, frustration, and overall lack of good service and fly there. Read Less

We chose this cruise because it was cheap and were not expecting much, but we were blown away. The ship was so clean, the employees were the kindest people I have ever been helped by. Our three dinner servers were amazing people that made each night so special for my family and me. The food was delicious, we always found something yummy. Too many yummy things actually. :) The activities on board were fun and a plenty to choose from. We enjoyed crafting, games, singing performances and water slides the most. It was an incredible trip with memories to last a life time. My family consists of my husband and two elementary aged daughters. Our bedroom had a king bed and two Murphy-style twin beds that folded out from the wall, over our king size bed. The kids loved it, they thought they were bunk beds. :) There were three large closets to place our luggage and to hang our clothes. The bathroom could easily fit two people at a time which helped when getting ready for the day. The water got hot super fast which is a plus for me. Read Less

Good afternoon. We just returned from this Cruise. It was very nice overall and a very nice family getaway. Our oldest son achieved his Platinum status on this cruise so he was elated. We are a family of four. The Jacksonville Cruise port experience was very nice. We arrived a bit earlier than our scheduled time but had no problem boarding. The first and second days at Sea were very relaxing with the Cruise Director Cam leading the cruisers. He was probably the best Cruise Director we had encountered. Very upbeat and personable young man. The Nassau port was very interesting as we ventured into the area. No planned excursions. Natives were very friendly. No issues We had to skip the Private Island due to high wind, high waves and very choppy seas. Real bumpy on approach and the Captain decided to move on. The cruise line actually allowed the Captain to dock at Freeport the next day. We spent about an hour at Senor Frogs and had a blast. Debarkation was a bit more challenging. Didn't actually get off the ship until 10:30 AM. For some reason they stopped calling decks and numbers for a while. Overall the cruise was very good, relaxing and enjoyable. The ship certainly has some flaws; however, we still enjoy all of our family cruise vacations. I hope that Carnival is reviewing the possibility of building a new Cruise Port somewhere south of Jacksonville preferably in St. John's County so that larger ships can be enjoyed without having to consider navigating under a passenger bridge. Just a Thought!!! Read Less

Friends booked this cruise and we decided to join also. Have been on this ship a few years ago and decor is nice except for sewage small emanating from around Atrium at all levels. We were informed that they 'were working on i'. After 10 days it was still putrid smelling. Entertainment in showroom was OK, nothing special. Comedians - all 4- since we did a 5 day back to back were the worst we have hears both at family shows and late night adult shows. Lots of shouting and noises and not a lot of really funny jokes. Ship has a new chef but the food in the dining room was poor. Mostly cold when served. Baked potatoes were underdone, watered down sour cream. Steaks had to be sent back 3 times by our friends and Mahi Mahi was so tough as to be inedible. Lots of choices were overly salty and not well executed at all. Dining room staff was great and very apologetic for the mediocre food. Princess Cay was nice, some new renovations but the food there was also not very good. We caught the staff cooking the hamburgers the night before so they turned out like hockey pucks, barely edible. Hot dogs were beef? or pork? no one know but awful. Fruit was under ripe so not very tasty Lots of passengers ate like "no tomorrow"because it was 'free food'. Also the sand fleas were biting everyone's ankles and we were not advised to bring pump insecticide along. Went to 1 of the Sea Day teas. Tea had only 2 choices, regular or green, no herbal at all. Bagel that I was served was so hard that I broke a tooth on first bite. Had to have a crown put in on return to home. Had a deli and pizza place at back of dining room. Pizza was OK, nothing great. Had a corned beef sandwich that was inedible since no one know how to properly slice corned beef. It was cut with the grain, as was the pastrami, so they were stringy and could not chew them. Salad bar was separated into 2 sections so never a line but someone should check the pitted olives- many of them had pits and I wonder if anyone broke a tooth on them. Lots of condiments were served in bowl, not individually pkgd. Cheaper I guess but messy and contaminated after just a short while. Saving a few pennies sometimes reduces the quality of the experience. Have been on 25 other cruises, some as long as a month and put this one on the bottom of the list. Would not go on the ship again unless many improvements were made. Read Less

After reading the reviews about this ship I was extremely nervous about this cruise; however, I didn’t experience any of the major negatives in past reviews. Listed below are my pros and cons. Pros: The cruise director Cam was amazing. He was really high energy and was able to included everyone in most of the onboard games and shows. The embarkment process was painless from the moment we parked out car we were on the boat within 20 to 30 mins same as leaving the boat. Most of the staff was friendly. Cons: You are unable to use the drink package on their private island. On NCL and Royal I was able to use my drink package on their private island. The drink package limits you to 15 drinks and I get it that they have to make some money but the days at sea it was easy to reach 15 drinks a day (6am to 6am). Once you reach 15 drinks they no longer allow you to get any alcoholic drinks even if you are willing to purchase them. Late night food choose not much to choose from. Read Less

This was a trip 8 months in the making. 16 members of our family boarded the Ecstasy on December 21,2019. We were beyond excited to be spending Christmas/Hannukah at sea. We were all on the Empress deck which is on the main atrium deck. The Atrium and all the balconies above were decorated with a giant Christmas tree, garland, lights and they even had a gigantic Menorah. The 5 children ages 11 months,3,4,7&9 were introduced to the staff in camp carnival. They did enjoy their time at camp very much. Our staterooms were comfortable and our stewards were fabulous. We asked for a bucket of ice when we boarded and it was refreshed twice a day after that. The food on the Lido deck(guys Burgers,Blue Iguana mexican food) was fantastic. Just wait until you see the desserts! The free champagne flowed from embarkation through cast off. The dining room food was mostly very good. Service was great. We loved Jon Jon our waiter. To me the entertainment staff was the highlight. They sang they danced and were just all around great. The Motown Show was so awesome. The Christmas day show was wonderful. The camp Carnival counselors worked with the children learning songs and they were brought on stage to be part of the show. A Hannukah service was held each night in the atrium with Potato latkes and wine at the end of the service. We hit wind and rough seas and the Captain made the decision to not stop at Princess Cays. Many additional activities were planned to keep everyone busy. We were disappointed but managed to have a nice at sea day. This was a wonderful way to make lifelong memories with our family. Everyone had a great time and is looking forward to the next cruise. Read Less

We choose this cruise for Christmas, we thought the kids would have a great time. It turned out to be the WORST cruise we have EVER took. First, the food and service was horrible. The crew was rude and messy. Second, the ship was smelling the whole time of feces. I threw up from smelling it for 3 days. And last, they canceled our excursions and we couldn’t go to princess cays. I will never take a carnival cruise line because of this experience. I would not even recommend this cruise line to my worst enemy. I just don’t know why they even have this ship sailing anymore it needs to be retired. It was definitely the worst Christmas I EVER had. I hate my children didn’t even enjoy themselves. They were so sad the whole time sailing. What a way to spend Christmas just so disappointed in Carnival !!!! Read Less

Im embarrassed to even tell people that I went on this ship. I had no clue a cruise ship could be this bad! It was truly the worst money we have ever spent on anything. To start off the ship smelled horrible, the only escape was in the buffet area and my stateroom (deck 14), other than that the odor followed us everywhere. I called Carnival and they told me the don't guarantee public areas ,only your private room! So unless you plan on hanging out in your room all day you're going to smell sewage. It really bothered us in the dining room. You want to go enjoy your meals but the smell is too strong. You'll be tasting this strange odor over whatever meal you are trying to enjoy. We had cooler weather so figured we would spend time in the hot tub but that wasn't going to happen because the hot tubs were lukewarm. Was there anything else to do? No. No outdoor activities that you could do in cooler weather. If you wanted to do something inside that was also limited unless you wanted to spend, spend, spend. We also were late to one port and completely missed another. How did Carnival compensate us? The gave us $13 port expense back. The whole cruise was a joke. I didn't buy a drink package because we don't drink much but we ended up spending around $450 on drinks just to make it bearable. We also spent another $650 finding things around the ship to keep us busy. My total was well over $1300 on the cruise from hell. Ive spoke to Carnival and they have opted to give me a 10% discount off what I spent on this cruise to go on another, per guest. Keep in mind we spent around $5,500 but my portion is a whole $65 off another cruise with carnival. Not a refund but a tiny discount. There is no way in hell I would give Carnival cruise lines another dime. If you like to vacation at run down hotels with sewage issues then this is the ship for you! If not find something else and don't waste your money! Read Less

This was our 6th cruise with Carnival and it will be our last. We sailed out of Jacksonville for 5 days to the Bahamas. The ship is showing its' age and is not well maintained. We had a group of 10 in 5 outside cabins. The cabin windows were filthy with dirt and paint drippings on them. Our toilet seat was broken and there is rust showing in many areas throughout the ship. Poor coordination attempting to start the shore excursions. Worst of all, the food was mediocre at best! The entertainment was a highlight. The shows were great and the band Sweet Emoceans were very very good. Our cruise director Alex was also great. And overall the staff was very good. Room steward Annak and Dining Room Waiter Frederick stand out for their excellent attitude and service. But the ship should be retired. One host at a trivia contest was extremely rude. We have used Carnival for many years and have enjoyed it and considered it a good value for a vacation. Traffic, waiting in line to get on and off the ship is expected and a concession you’re willing to make when the rest is relaxing and paid for except for the drinks. There was 11 of us and we will probably be willing to pay more for more enjoyment and less annoyance in the future. A lot of people feel this way. Upon getting on the ship there was an incredible stench off raw sewage. It was much better the next day but was intermittently noticed throughout the trip. Room cleaning has been reduced from 2 to 1 time daily. Twice is nice for rooms this small. Lobster now cost $20 extra as are some other items that used to be included. Smoked salmon, one of my favorites, was no longer offered. Food was good not great and pretty common items. Nothing special. Pizza and sandwiches were good if you were willing to wait. Even the safety drill was incredibly long with no explanation. We were entertained by having members of the audience tell jokes while waiting to be released. Announcements were particularly annoying since we had to go into the hallway to be able to hear and they were pretty much always commercial announcements. But you had to listen in case it was an emergency. Returning from shore excursions, was somewhat unpleasant due to constantly being told to keep moving whether. There was anywhere to move to or not and some of the cattle herders were impolite. Overall atmosphere was that there was an effort to cut costs through reduced services and personnel as well as general maintenance and food costs. Also very notable that exiting the cruise ship was very slow and some people appeared to randomly be searched or at least their luggage was. Read Less

We booked a family vacation for 8 and drove down from NY to Jax. Immediately the smell onboard was off putting but we decide to ignore as best we could and have a good time. Staff appear to be working hard and the entertainment was good . The food was sub par tasteless and lukewarm. Pizza was good so we ate that a lot . Buffet is in supervised by staff and kids were touching everything. No one was encouraged to wash hands. No one enforced rule of hot tubs . It really was a germ fest. On Weds 12/5 our youngest began to vomit . Now on our drive home all the kids are sick IN THE CAR trapped! Worst cruise ever. The Ecstasy needs to be retired and the Head chef needs to be replaced and forced to eat from the buffet! It really baffles me why Carnival continues to sail this ship. Such a waste of money for us. Reason we chose this cruise: It was in a day drive, low budget and fit into fall break for our teen. Embarkation and disembarkation was very smooth and efficient. Ship was old and dated and many of the areas on the ship had cosmetic issues - tiles off of walls, cracks and rust. After the second night in the dining room we successfully found a great service team that we stuck with for entire cruise. The last night after returning from dinner we entered the hallway to a terrible smell and crew members frantically trying to vacuum up the water that was about 4" in the hall. Many cabins were flooded and people could not get belongings. We were moved to 2 rooms as there were none that could accommodate 3. In room with my wife and teenager somebody early in the morning just walked into the room without knocking. Read Less

Over 20 cruises with Carnival. Each one an experience. Although this ship is a little old now,she is still a fun ship. Great staff on this ship makes the voyage lots f of fun and entertaining. Cam,the cruise director is definitely one of the best. He really puts his all into everything he does. One of if not the best singing/dance teams we have seen. Ardestra Gardens in Nassau was beautiful. Small garden with marching flamingos! About $18 for ticket and a $20 taxi ride there. Definitely worth a visit, highly recommend. Half moon cay was beautiful as usual, watch out for jellyfish! Otherwise beautiful sandy beach with lots of room for fun and relaxation. Looking for jewelry? Check out Effy on ship, Marianne or Alexandra are 2 ladies who know their stuff. They also give away lots of cool stuff. Guys burgers are always a hit, and they have improved their desserts in the lido restaurant. Had ocean view room, which was comfortable and plenty of storage space for 2. There was worn spot in shower floor which was repainted during cruise while we were out and about. I also recommend that when looking at reviews to take more notice of this who have done more than one review. These folks have cruised often and know what to expect. Just saying! Read Less

I have been on 3 Carnival Cruises and my wife has been on nearly 10 of them and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had on a cruise. First, I realize that we cannot control the weather but as another person included in their review, our itinerary remained unchanged until late Sunday evening when we were informed we would be going to Key West instead of Princess Kay. No big deal, but then we spent the rest of the cruise on the damn boat. No other ports that we could go to so we spent 4 1/2 days at sea of a five day cruise. Secondly, I will echo another reviewer in stating that the Captain continuously placed us at risk by getting too close to the hurricane. Although the status of our location said we were safely away from the hurricane, there were more than two instances in which the ship was sailed into the green area of the hurricane. On Tuesday morning at 2:00, the ship was rocking so bad from the waves that it literally caused my wife and I to roll in the bed. It kept us up all night, not to mention the kids that were in the room next to us. Sounded like construction going on all night long. Went to guest services, they apologized and said if it continued to let them know. Well guess what, it continued. We called guest services and were placed on hold waiting for someone to answer. And this was at 1:00 in the morning. Still nothing done. There was a strong sewage smell that stayed the entire cruise. We could smell it in our bathroom, down the hallway, on the Lido deck, practically everywhere. The explanation we received was that it was "Sea Water". Sorry, but the only place it smelled like that was actually on the boat. So back to the rough waters of travel. On Wednesday (last day at sea), the waters were so rough that dinnerware was sliding on the tables, deck chairs were sliding on the decks, and chips fell over in the casino at the table I was at. But we were continuously reassured that all was safe. Each day, the Cruise Director and Captain held a Q&A session regarding the status of the cruise and the hurricane. Once we were informed that we would not be going to any other ports after Key West, we were told they were going to add a lot of entertainment on the ship to make up for the missed time from our destinations. If you consider adding trivia games and back/arthritis seminars as added entertainment, then you have different expectations of what entertainment is than I do. One of my biggest complaints of all is the fact that while we were at sea, they never made an announcement or sent a letter to our stateroom to inform us that they provided all the passengers free WiFi so that we could contact our families to let them know we were alright. We found that out from other guests who were at our dining table. Piling on with some of the other reviews on here, we arrived to Port Canaveral and was sent on a charter bus for two hours to the Jacksonville Port after being told multiple times that they were going to extend the cruise until the Port was open. In conclusion, I called Carnival Customer Service today and inquired what they were going to do to satisfy our complaint. I was informed that when we booked, we signed a disclosure that stated Carnival reserves the right to alter the cruise itinerary at their discretion and would not be offering any reimbursement of credit for this cruise. Ultimately, Carnival said screw all of the unhappy guests with the decisions that they made and we are going to keep your money for a cruise that did not reach one destination on the itinerary (Key West was not on the original itinerary), offered nothing more than an apology for the inconvenience, and couldn't care less about the members who have CHOSEN their cruise line. We were planning on taking a family cruise for our family's 10 year anniversary next year but you can rest assured it won't be with Carnival Cruise. Their Customer Service can now be ranked up there with AT&T and Comcast. Read Less

I rely heavily on reviews when planning my vacations. I tend to start my trip feeling pretty well informed on the good, bad and ugly to expect. I am also not one to complain and would much rather write a 5/5 review than anything negative. I am going to write todays to hopefully help other first time cruisers be prepared. This is the first time my family of five had been on a cruise ship. We booked to try something new and the price fit our budget well. We had a great vacation and made many happy memories, we enjoyed times on the ship and there were some flaws. I will start with the good. Embarkation/Debarkation and any other typical waiting lines (buffet, shows, guest services) all ran quickly and smoothly for me. I never really felt the crowds kept us from having a good time. We all enjoyed the food. I really enjoyed the breakfast burrito at Blue Iguana and found there was rarely anyone else there so always had quick service. We had the early seating at the Wind Song and I found meals to be good. Our servers were also polite, friendly and helpful. The entertainment kept us busy. My kids had a great time dancing during the parties and always found something to do. Many times we had to choose between one or two activities because they overlapped times. Staff were friendly, I always heard hellos, good mornings and such while walking around. I also always saw staff hard at work cleaning in the early morning. The bad I knew the ship was older and I understood I would see the wear and tear because of that. I just didn't realize how extreme it was. You can definitely see at any area of this ship its age. That said cosmetics are not going to make or break my vacation and we ignored this. My kids did not like the kids clubs (we made them go one morning to try). It may be personality, but my 8 year old stated they made him feel like a baby. My 10 year old said most the video games did not work, and they were not allowed to use the ones that did (age limits), my 16 year old said she was the oldest one there and left right away. We attended a Family Bingo in one of the rooms. Not well set up, a dozen families cramped into a small space, sitting on the floor. Than getting lectured by the cleaning crew because they were blocking doorways. Should have been set up somewhere everyone could fit. People are correct about smells. Not every where and not always. We were on floor 6 near the back of the boat. By day two every time I walked a certain way down the hall to get to our room you would get a garbage smell. By day four there were a few walkways around the pool area that smelled heavily of sewage. The Ugly As I stated I was not going to let the cosmetics of the ship affect our vacation, but it was hard to look past the fact that our bedding was always dirty. Normally I don't have rooms cleaned each day, but for this trip I had housekeeping change things daily. Each day more than one of our five bed linens had stains. This part is on me, I don't like complaining and I hoped each day when they were changed it would be fine. The bugs I could not get past. I fully understand this is an environment where critters can spread easily and its not always 100% fault of the service. When my daughter woke up day 2 covered in spots (she was sleeping in one of the upper bunks) I truly believed it was an allergic reaction. She took allergy meds for the next couple days and we continued on. When night 4 she woke crying that her feet were burning, had more bites and the meds were not helping I knew. I gave her more meds and informed guest services of my concerns. I am not assertive enough, I was asked if she needed medical attention and that was all. The next day was debarkation and we were herded off with no time to return to complain. My poor daughter had more bites, and by this point all of us had a few, but hers were extreme. My entire trip home all I thought of is how they move us out and more in so quickly. Some poor other family or child may end up with the same problem. As soon as I returned home I contacted Carnival on the phone. I felt better that they said they would have the room checked and assessed again and went over the protocol that each room goes through at turn around. Not perfect (obviously) but apparently they try. At least this will help the next family, but did nothing to help my daughter who spent three days of her vacation medicated to stop the itching. Not to mention I am still redoing laundry and quarantined my luggage to be sure we did not bring along these extra souvenirs. So through this all I will say this. Would my family cruise again--I think so Would we use Carnival---I really don't know Will we return to the Ecstasy--Nope Read Less

This was my first cruise, and I have to say that everyone I interacted with (with the occasional exception) was truly FANTASTIC! Cam (the Cruise Director) was phenomenal; the bar staff including Lulu, Hery, Luzviminda, Cherrie, Rosita were INCREDIBLE; our room steward Yudi was truly AWESOME; and the entertainment crew including DJ Alter and Bingo Bella were EXTRAORDINARY! I literally have no complaints about the majority of my cruise. The room was slightly aged, but the service made it worth it. The ship showed some signs off wear, but the crew was always cleaning and repairing it. It shows they care about the presentation, so any minor cosmetic defects were easy to overlook. The dining room service was EXCEPTIONAL, and the Guy's Burger and Blue Iguana Cantina were really good. I will say the dining room evening food lacked a little flavor, but with some salt and pepper it was much better. Our family could not be more grateful to everyone for our experience, and we will be returning on another cruise in the future on CARNIVAL. Read Less

So to start this review it must be known that this was my 13th cruise and 3rd on Carnival. I selected Ecstasy because it fit my travel time and location. Embarkation and debarkation was a breeze. That was very good. The ship is outdated which I did not care about. It was the 1st cruise for my adult kids so they didn’t have anything to compare it to. Entertainment was ok. No huge complaint there. Service was good. Everyone nice. My only major complaint was the food. It was bad. I like food more on the bland side but this was bad. No flavor. A lot of food wasn’t warm. We only ate in the dining room once. Meat was dry and lacked flavor. Our only saving grace was the deli. Kids liked the pizza ok. I did somewhat enjoy the lunch tacos. Guys burgers were extremely greasy. I will not sail on Ecstasy ever again. People warned me. They were right. Save your money. Read Less

Since then, so many things have changed as far as service goes. Wait staff was overwhelmed. Their used to be multiple staff assigned to a table. On this cruise we had only a waiter for a party of 12. He barely spoke to us, didn’t know any names (something carnival takes pride in), and felt cold like we were an inconvenience. This was the assigned 6pm dining. It wasn’t completely his fault, as it really did seem to be to much for him. The service we received at breakfast in the main dining rm was far, far better then we received at dinner. The menu was considerably “cheaper” then previous cruises. Main entree’s like “fried chicken” are the new norm I guess. Outside of the dining service, the lido wait staff was also worthless. Don’t waste your money on “bottomless bubbles”. It’s near impossible to get a soda or juice from the wait staff. Unless you were ordering an alcoholic beverage, the wait staff was disinterested. The would either not bring your drink altogether or it would take 30-45 mins, for a can of soda.... As for the other issues outside of service... the Carnival Ectasy smelled of sewage whenever not in port. Some crew blamed the “Jacksonville water” but that only worked for the first two days until some finally admitted that it was a maintenance issue and was scheduled for repair months later. The tap water was YELLOW and have a video to prove it. Had to use bottled water to brush teeth and rinse our babies bottle. The ac did not work in our room and just about all the other 15 cabins in our group. We had to request a fan to circulate air in our muggy room. Our water pressure was incredible, my mothers shower was almost useless. There were a couple positives.... Cam, the cruise director was Amazing! Of the 4 cruises I have been on, he was the best I have seen yet. He was very fun, great with kids and had an awesome attitude. Also, Patu, our head room steward was amazing. He took time to entertain and interact with our kids and they/we felt as though he was a friend. He showed them multiple towel animals, called us all by name and was just exceptional. I really hope these differences were just on the ecstasy and not the direction carnival is moving as a whole. It felt like the airline industry where nothing is free anymore and service is a minimum. This was not a cheap cruise and we all left extremely disappointed. You will receive better service at chic-fil-a. Read Less

I enjoyed myself sooo much. embarkation & disembarkation went fairly smooth, I had my birth certificate, and although you didn't need a passport, I highly recommend it, it makes the overall process easier, as well as getting on & off the ship when you are at port. we had an oceanview cabin, it was nice, spacious for the most part & clean. the food was amazing, I didn't try every restaurant like I wanted to, i mostly stayed at Guy's Burger joint, which have the best burgers I've ever had in my life. the entertainment and activities were fun, our cruise caption Cam made my first experience that much more greater, I loved how there were activities to do every hour of the day, you were never left with nothing to do. the staff were amazing, kept cabin neat & clean, everyone was always smiling & willing to help with anything. I'm glad i picked carnival cruise line for my first cruise. already planning my second & third cruises. I'm happy to now be apart of the cruise life. Read Less

Do not book a cruise on this ship!!!! It smells of sewage !! Very disgusting !! Although the food and entertainment was decent it wasn't worth dealing with the awful smell thru out the boat. With so many travel options out there why spend your hard earned money on this ship... Also the crew were all very pleasant and always seemed to be working the ship looked tired and worn.. It was difficult to find a clean table in the buffet area.. Although we did see the clean up crew working constantly. Perhaps there was not enough staff.. Anyway beware ! I'm sorry my family and I ignored the negative reviews about this ship.. We just assumed you can't make everyone happy all the time.. But the reviews of the ship smelling of sewage was right on. When we contacted Carnival corporation about our awful experience aboard their smelly ship they couldn't have cared less. Read Less

First time Carnival cruiser. Cruised on holland America multiple times. Inside cabin - roomy and staff was super. Always spotless!! Shows were good though somewhat similar. Comedy was good. . Cruise director was very good. Food on lido was great. Guys burgers were really, really great! Dining room food was good but never hot. After asking to make hotter, they handled it. Panda, our server was super - best of any cruise we’ve been on. Always ask for her. Only bad staff were bartenders at casino bar. Slow with attitudes! Ports of call embarkation / debarkation was fast and easy. Big downer was leaving when we returned to Jacksonville. Had to be Out of our cabin by 8:30. Our deck wasn’t called till 10 and then another 1/2 hour before we were off of the ship. We got a porter which cut out 45 minutes in line for immigration. They definitely need some help there! All in all great value for the money! Read Less

Great to be with an older girls cruise for the long weekend. Friendly service. Food so-so and always only mildly warmed in dining room. Bread very hard. As for entertainment, the dance shows were LOUD electric music with flashing lights. Singers going to the top of voice range which means I had to put hands over ears. Nice costumes and movement around stage. Avoid Kirk as a comedian. Saying the best part for last was the newly appointed cruise director——Chris. So full of life! Makes everything he does so fun Whether it is Harry Potter trivia or atrium music. Awesome!!!! This was his first cruise director position and he was ready for it. He had an accessory for each event he was doing. He was entertaining just to talk to. Boring destinations but only ones if leaving from Jacksonville. Parking easy, Embarked within 30 minutes. Could have been sooner if Elation could figure how to disembark. Total headache. Easy walkoff took until 10:00. Poor ports, mediocre food, and terrible disembark gives it a three. On deck, Guys burgers and burrito bar are good. Read Less

We are frequent cruises and lower our expectations when necessary. The ship itself was well maintained and the food was good. Guys burgers were awesome! Room service was also very good and had many free options and the pay options were not pricey. Our room location was horrible. We were right above the metal machine shop where very loud grinding, hammering of metal and clinking continues from 7:30 am until after supper every day. I was really sick with a head cold and could not rest even with ear plugs. They offered us 150 credit at the ships shops. We got badly sunburned and the ships shop did not have any aloe or ointments to help. The cabin steward accidentally threw out a retainer that was on the bathroom shelf. It will be 500 to replace it. We are in our forties and really appreciate our afternoon rests and peace and quiet but there was none in our room. Read Less
