Not much to do

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Elation

We have cruised many times and this was the worse ship ever. There was nothing to do. Our room was an interior. I usually love interior rooms because they are so dark it makes sleeping easy. Not on this ship. There is a big crack all around the door letting the hallway light spill in. The way the bed was set up every time I rolled over light was shining in my face. The room was stated for 4 ...

Small ship did not disappoint

It's been a number of years since we sailed on a Fantasy class ship, but I recalled the pace feeling less frantic, not feeling crowded and having incredible service. Elation did not disappoint and reaffirmed those remembrances. There was never a venue, dining room, bar, deck, etc that we were unable to easily find a seat in. Service was generally top notched and there was always something to ...

Smaller ship - longer cruise!

We wanted to do a week cruise on one of the smaller ships...thus we chose the Elation for the job. Normally this ship runs to the Bahamas, which we have actually taken on her. We were onboard prior to the refit - which was a surprising uplift to the vessel. Since our adult daughter was coming along, we got a suite for the obvious extra room...good move. The Grand Suite was a bit smaller than ...

My wife talked me into going on a cruise with her brother his wife and a group of friends. I have always thought i would not enjoy a cruise. I was wrong i did enjoy it. The food was great the fellowship with family and friends was great. I loved key west and will go back sometime when i can spend more time there. The service crew was great every one was great until time to get off the ship. We had ...

This was our 19th cruise, 17th on Carnival. We had been on the Elation 2 previous times, so we were familiar with the ship. The only disadvantage on taking one of the Fantasy class ships is the lack of balcony cabins. Other than that, the small size is just right for getting around and a lot of open deck. The Jacksonville port is not much to look at, but I guess you can call it funtional. ...

Great Weather - Great Crew

We chose this cruise because it left from Jacksonville, FL and went to Key West, FL and Nassau Bahamas, two places we had never been. Our travel agent warned us that it was an old ship. The ship did show its age, but everything was clean and nothing needed repair. The highlight of the cruise for us was the efficiency and friendliness of the crew. Our head waiter Joseph was the best we have had on ...

After reading all the negative reviews of the Elation I didn't know what to expect. I was greatly surprised. The ship was clean, The Grand Suite was awesome ( a few signs of aging) The Service EVERYWHERE on the ship was excellent. The dining room staff, Guest Relations, Cabin crew and the bar crew were all extremely nice and helpful. The embarkation process was not as smooth as it had been in ...

Jacksonville is a convenient drive-to port, and we had not been aboard the Carnival Elation previously. Booking our first back-to-back cruises, total 10 days, we were optimistic that we would not be bored. As 80+ though active passengers, we especially appreciate the perks of being "platinum" Carnival cruisers. With early check in, we went directly to our prepared cabin to unload minimal ...

chose this trip for convenience and price i guess....i can't recommend this ship......needs a remodeling, badly. the smell of raw sewage near the end was sickening, of course, and.should never be allowed. the bedding was beyond worn out. it was our third cruise with carnival in twelve months and overall we enjoyed the first two more. I've found carnivals crews to be friendly and hard working, ...

First if you are wanting a classy cruise, THIS IS NOT IT! The ship is old but clean. Our bed was comfortable but our friends bed was hard and not comfortable at all. We had a picture tube television in our room, kinda weird. The food was not very good. The food at dinner was so so quality. It seemed to all taste the same each night. Steak was tough one night but ok another night. The stage ...
