A Little-Known River System With Some Wonderful Ports

Review for a North America River Cruise on American Star

We have traveled a lot, but have missed much of the USA. Our friends recommended American Cruise Lines (ACL) for both the quality of the cruise and the excellent on-board speakers and entertainment all keyed to the river and itinerary. We are seeing America on American Cruise Line. We didn't know about the St. John's river prior to this trip, and while we have visited Florida many times have ...

Our friends recommended American Cruise Lines to us, and this is our 6th cruise with ACL and now have sailed on their older small boats as well as the larger more luxurious boats. We spent the night at the Hyatt Regency for a relaxing overnight stay prior to boarding the Star which was anchored immediately in-front of the Hotel. Boarding (as always with ACL) was easy, with lots of help and ...

We had an incredible Thanksgiving cruise on the American Star. We've never spent Thanksgiving on a cruise ship but after the experience we had with American Cruise Lines this year on the Star, I think we will always plan our future Thanksgivings aboard ACL. No cooking, no cleanup, no relatives!!! I hope you can read the menu, it was unbelievable the amount of dishes they had. Cocktail hour was ...

We wanted a cruise close to our home in North Carolina and the Great Rivers of Florida on American Cruise Line fit the bill. We cruised the St Johns, ICW and went to Amelia Island and down to St Augustine. While the American Star is one of ACL older ships it was in grand condition. The crew was one of the best we have encountered. Dining was a great experience, Happy Hour was special and gave us ...

Tho I have been to Florida several times in the past, as in every state, country there are always new and different part to discover. I've heard of the St John River but had never been on it. Have always been curious about the manatees and their habitat so was anxious to have the opportunity to explore their 'home'. On the boat tour we saw a number of different birds, and other animals as well. ...

our Florida Great Rivers experience

We selected to cruise the Great Rivers of Florida for several reasons. We liked the time of year, the ports we were visiting, the size of the ship and our expectations with American Cruise Lines as we have sailed with them before. The embarkation process was simple. The ship was docked directly across the street from a parking garage, making it simple to get from the car to the ship. Our ...

Up to expectations

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American Star

This was our 9th cruise with American Cruise Lines so we are obviously satisfied with their overall performance. There have been some cruises where they failed to live up to their motto: "Small ship cruising done perfectly". That is a very high standard that they have set for themselves and they have, on occasion, failed to meet it. Their Customer Service team has been slow to address our comments ...

A close friend and I wanted to enjoy a relaxing week together, and this cruise turned out to be the perfect choice. From the moment we stepped aboard we were greeted by a sea of smiling faces. We followed the luggage to our cabin and were delighted with the space, the balcony with sliding doors providing fabulous views at all times, especially on waking, and the larger than usual bathroom on a ...

My wife and I selected this cruise simply to relax in pleasant weather exploring a new part of Florida for us. We arrived the day before the start of our cruise with an overnight stay at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront allowing us to enjoy the pleasant weather and St. Patrick Day activities at Jacksonville landing and good seafood at Benny’s Steak and Seafood Restaurant on the St Johns ...

Lived Up to Their Slogan - Perfect

American Cruise Lines has a slogan, "Small Ship Cruising Done Perfectly." Yep, they certainly did it. Everything was perfect. The food was scrumptious. I liked that they offered half portions, so I was less tempted to overeat. There were only 60 on the Cruise, although the ship will carry 98. With open seating at meals, we got to meet so many interesting people. The Line caters to older ...
