An amazing journey of ancient lands

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Gem

This was our first trip on Norwegian Gem, but not first on NCL. We booked for the itinerary which originally included Turkey, Israel, Greece, Egypt, Sicily and Italy (Naples and Rome). Sadly, we were unable to visit Israel due to war with Hamas. We were pleased with the substitutions of Crete and Cyprus, having never visited either island before. Ship and crew: We've been on several ...

Regent Disappoints

First time Regent clients here and thoroughly disappointed. The Penthouse suite we stayed in was very nice, but also tired. The Butler service overhyped and unnecessary in our opinion - just canapés delivered daily and a mini bar also topped up daily - only it wasn’t and required reminders. The vast majority of their waiting staff and all of the housekeeping teams were fabulous. The reception ...

After having a wonderful cruise on the Mariner in June we decided we wanted to book Regent again and what a complete difference between the 2 cruises Most of the staff was very miserable, hardly any staff ever smiled. Shore excursion desk the staff looked like don’t bother me and go away Wifi unacceptable Food compared to Mariner was terrible, i think the chef and food director were ...

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Oceania Vista

We chose this cruise for the itinerary. The fact that the ship was brand new didn’t hurt either. This was our third cruise on Oceania and we first cruised with them on the Baltic Sea on the Marina. We fell in love with the ship and the cruise line. However, since the pandemic, things just aren’t quite the same. We did our air through Oceania for the purpose of if things went wrong, they would take ...

We love the Oceania and booked this cruise (and paid) for Upgraded air fare (economy class). The air arrangement were awful - our tour agent was able to finally get us nonstop coach direct to Turkey. There were 3 couples going on this trip (from the same community) we requested to fly together - reservations for trip made 2 years in advance. They booked the three couple all on different ...

Absolutely…positively…decline in the quality of food.

I have sailed 5 times with Oceania. The food has been the primary reason and the service. The food was actually terrible on the new Vista. Room service was not edible. Red Ginger had the best food out of all the restaurants. The bacon was tasteless. Even the ketchup was an off brand that was horrible. The penthouse suite was great but the vibration from the engines woke me up at night. I have ...

Chose this cruise for great itinerary and Brand new ship. Although bathrooms are now larger, staterooms below the "penthouse" suite category are simply too small. Far less space than Seaborne, Regent and Silversea! But most disappointing is closet space!! Actually ridiculous that a New ship would have a shared 2 person closet that measures less than 2 meter/yard wide, and only deep enough to fit a ...

The good, the bad and the ugly

The good. The food on this cruise was the best I have ever had on a cruise. The bathroom in my standard stateroom was the nicest I have ever had on a cruise. Our room steward was amazing throughout the two weeks. He never failed to keep our room clean twice each day. He went out of his way to refill our refrigerator and ice bucket. They do not nickel and dime you on this boat which is very ...

We were eager to cruise on this beautiful new ship, it looked fabulous, modern but chic ! The rooms were fabulous and it really felt special, I had never seen such a big and convenient bathroom ! The arrival in Istanbul was not easy, we had included transfer but it took over an hour and a look of detective work to find our bus. We finally got there and it was worth the trouble !! The food is ...

Disappointing

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Marina

We chose this particular cruise because the itinerary included three places we wanted to visit. It was our first experience with Oceania and will be our last. When we signed up or the trip, we were unaware of how Oceania differs from most or all other cruise lines. We have cruised with most of the better known lines, in the Baltic, Alaska, Hawaii, Carribean, Panama, Cuba, Bahamas, and on most ...
