Great cruise with a fantastic crew

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Azamara Quest

Just disembarked the Quest after 11 nights from Istanbul to Athens. The experience was top notch and rest assured that the crew is getting more and more up to excellent standards . The boarding process in Istanbul was seemless and we were on board by 1:15. The itinerary was changed just a few days before to switch date of ports in Santorini and Patmos. As a result we had Santorini with a portload ...

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Azamara Quest

We cruised on the Azamara Quest sailing out of Istanbul down the west coast of Turkey and through the Greek Islands. This is probably the best cruise we have taken and the Quest is in excellent shape for an older ship. Quest is said to have been overhauled in 2021. Everything was perfect. Check-in was seamless and the required orientation went quickly on 5. We had a balcony room on the 7th floor. ...

10-Night Greece intensive - June 9, 2023, Eastern Aegean from a "city not on the Aegean"

Outstanding: Of our some 30 cruises, both ocean and river, this was among the 3 best overall, and the best in multiple regards particularly food and beverage. (A post-covid cruise we took on 1 of those 3 best was now unsatisfactory.) Considering we are still coming out of covid, and that Azamara recently changed ownership, with attendant start-up problems with the website, the performance of ...

Incredible, excursion-packed trip with NO at-sea days

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Viking Star

We chose this cruise because of the many ports and countries, and ZERO at-sea days. Our primary reason for cruising is to see as much as we can, off of the ship. Viking delivered. The food was great for the most part, though we thought the Chef's Table was overrated, and much preferred Manifredi's. The buffet was pretty good, with only a few dishes that we didn't care for. Lots of seafood, ...

Review for a Europe - River Cruise Cruise on Scenic Jade

User Avatar

Itinerary was what we wanted. Turkey to Amsterdam. Scenic road portions are so well organized, giving you all kinds of surprises at every stop along the way. They use more buses than necessary so you aren't crammed in. Mostly Aussies, a few Kiwis and Canucks. Luckily, only a few from USA. Top hotels except Cannikali. Tanner the guide was more than fantastic. Then we boarded JADE and Nikola took ...

Great Ports, good food and service

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Star

Many of the ports such as Athens, Aqaba, Luxor, Haifam, Suez Canal are all bucket list destinations and that's why we picked this cruise. At the main dining room they asked if we wanted to share dinner tables and we met a lot of interesting people that way. The main dining room menu is extensive with more than 10 entree selections and the food especially the fish was always well cooked ...

Generally wonderful 21-day cruise

Review for a Trans-Ocean Cruise on Norwegian Star

The Star is a beautiful ship, and the price could not be beaten. We booked a guaranteed-rate oceanview cabin, which meant that Norwegian picked the room. Previous experience suggested that, for my wife and me, a balcony was not useful as we don't smoke and we prefer to eat in a dining venue. We received a cabin containing a queen bed and space to walk a few steps, with a porthole rather than a ...

We were upgraded to a penthouse suite

Review for a Trans-Ocean Cruise on Norwegian Star

It is difficult to give an objective critique because my husband and I lucked out and spent 21 days in a gorgeous penthouse suite with butler and all the perks. (We usually stay in a regular balcony cabin). That being said, we were very impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of all of the crew and staff. We have taken more than ten cruises on many different cruise lines and I don't ...

Great itinerary!

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Celebrity Constellation

I chose this cruise because of the itinerary and enjoyed all of it. I was a solo female and loved having a cabin to myself. The food was good and my cabin was kept clean and tidy. I used room service several times after a day of long tours. I enjoyed getting up early and getting coffee and watching the sun rise. The ship was quiet and beautiful in the early morning. The tours offered by ...

Wonderful trip

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Celebrity Constellation

We booked this cruise a year and a half ago. What fun planning. There were 4 of us, all retired, but active. We picked this cruise because of the itinerary and our past experiences with Celebrity. The ship was originally to depart from Istanbul, but the bombings at the airport there resulted in Celebrity changing our departure port to Athens. I am glad I booked my air thru Choice Air, as they ...
