AJ’s Sloth and Monkey sanctuary. We booked this on our own in advance. Shore excursions to these places were longer and more costly. We got transportation and the animal experience for $35 pp. Lots of fun and guide was great.

Eastern Mediterranean on the Jade

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Jade

We sailed from Istanbul to Barcelona in November 2009, visiting 8 ports, with two overnights--one in Istanbul and one in Venice. The itinerary and time in ports was fantastic, and is what made us sign up for a cruise in not the best time of the year to expect good weather. This was our second cruise on the Jade. The ship's overall design is great, making it easy to navigate onboard. The two ...

We chose the Jade because of the ports visited. The freestyle dining was ideal because of so many ports and never knowing when you would return from the tours and sightseeing or how tired you would be as far as your choice of dining. The times we dined in the main dining we had approximately 30 minute waits until the beeper went off but once seated we, again felt the service was slow and the food ...

We were traveling with a group and our travel agent made all the arrangements for us, including tours at our ports of call, so I can't comment on the quality or price of NCL tours. After touring Istanbul all day, the embarkation process was smooth and efficient, and we were able to unpack and dine without feeling stressed. Disembarkation at ports of call was very efficient, especially when we ...

My husband and I are 38 years old, and this is only our second cruise. Our first was on RCI to Alaska. I had researched NCL extensively before booking so we had few surprises. We chose this cruise because of the itinerary (Istanbul, Izmir, Dubrovnik, Athens, Venice, Naples, Rome, Barcelona)and the price. RCI was the only other line to come close to the price of NCL, but we couldn't get quite ...

We found the Norwegian Jade to be a clean and nicely furnished ship Except for it's huge size, which did make it a bit unmanageable for our slightly handicapped companion,it was well equipped, the staterooms were lovely and clean, the bathrooms were very nice and we were only in the standard ocean view rooms. However, everything included a service charge/gratuity even the bottle of water in the ...

ARRIVAL - PRECRUISE INFO We are a 60ish couple from Texas. Having been to Istanbul a couple of times, we arrived two days early to look around on our own. We stayed at the Hotel Niles and used the hotel's taxi service which was efficient and pleasant. The hotel is not fancy, but the price is good and everything was as advertised, and as reviewed on Tripadvisor. The rooftop restaurant was ...

Norwegian Jade Review Sept 19th to Oct 1st 2008 Just to start with I'd like to say that we had a fantastic 12 night cruise on the Norwegian Jade from Istanbul to Athens and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Background A brief introduction. We are a family of 4 from Australia, living near Sydney. I cruised with DH and our 2 teenage daughters aged 12 and 15. This was our second cruise, ...

This was our 6th cruise, and the first one with NCL. I was not sure if we would like the freestyle dinning. We have always enjoyed formal nights and our seat mates on other cruises. We did for the most part enjoy it greatly. Dinning rooms. Our favorite was the Grand Pacific. The food and service where usually very good. The Bistro was very good. We ate at Papa's Italian Kitchen one night. Would ...

Istanbul to Athens Norweigian Jade - Friday April 11th - Wednesday April 23th Outbound Flights We live in Fairburn, GA. which is about 25 miles southwest of Atlanta. We flew on a Delta 767-300 to New York's JFK, and then on another 767-300 on to Istanbul. The flight to JFK experienced minor delays, but was otherwise uneventful. It's been awhile since I've been to JFK, but this airport is ...

I'll begin my review with our perspective on cruising/ vacationing. I think that one can find fault in anything, and we fully expect to have disappointments" during vacation. We had some on this trip, but in no way did it detract from the enjoyment of our vacation. We take things in stride, and if something frustrates us, we remember that we are on vacation, and not working, so things are good! We ...
