1-10 of 26 Istanbul Oceania Nautica Cruise Reviews
We chose the cruise for the itinerary and supposed quality of the cruise. The itinerary was great, but the cruise was nothing special compared to any others we have taken. The stateroom bathroom was exceptionally small. We had an Oceanview room on the 6th floor toward the front of the boat. The room was larger than most as the balcony area was inside the room. Because we were over the ...
Unless you reserve in the two highest categories, you are treated very poorly. Dinner ereservatiiobns are not a priority unless you are in the top 2 categories, embarking early reserved for special class & expensive tours. Not at all what we expected. Middle &uppe r maNAgement very impressed with themselves and not helpful. One notable excxception is genertal manager Guiseepe. Reception & ...
Other than being disappointed by Oceania once again taking two ports off the cruise as we were cruising the trip was amazing! We were supposed to stop in Cyprus and one additional stop in Egypt. VERY disappointed that we didn't. The cruise line told us it was due to weather but we know that over 30 guests missed flights and so the ship stayed another night in Istanbul to save themselves money. I'm ...
We took our second Ocenia cruise this year from Istanbul visiting some Greek Islands and Turkish ports before
ending up in Athens (Sept/Oct 2013). This followed our first cruise on the same cruise line from Vancouver to Alaska in May 2013.
Although for the Mediterranean cruise was on the Nautica, and the cruise to Alaska was on the Regatta, the two ships
were so similar that sometimes, I forgot ...
This was our first Oceania Cruise. We picked it because of the itinerary Istanbul to Athens.
Pros: We loved the smaller cruise ship with less then 700 passengers. Pick-up at the airport was prompt. Check-in and out was a breeze.Entertainment was Ok, nothing special due to the size of the lounge. The hot tubs were great temperature, we did not use the pool or the spa. Dining was excellent as we ...
This was our first Oceania cruise and we were looking forward to comparing it to the other cruise lines we have used, from Silverseas to NCL. It was excellent and a very good value for the money. Food, especially in the specialty restaurants, was excellent. Good variety and well prepared. As will smaller ships, the nightly shows are not Broadway extravaganzas but they were very good.
We thought ...
Getting on and off the ship was very professionally done. The room was smaller than I thought it would be. I know trick photography is used when taking pictures of the room, but a little more space for the price would be nice. Everything worked well in the room, tv, air, good mattress. No problems with the bathroom, plenty of supplies. The service was the best. 5+ for sure. The cruise ...
We've sailed Oceania before and think they provide an excellent experience. Even so, a thirty day cruise was a log time and a lot of money, so we debated about it. The itinerary convinced us, with fifteen ports, most places we'd never been that are difficult to get to any other way, sailing the West Coast of Africa. There were twelve sea days - interspersed nicely with the ports, to make for a ...
Likes and dislikes are individual tastes and here are mine.
There are many pluses about the Nautica. The staff is very good. The rooms are comfortable with marvelous mattress and bed linens, plenty of storage, and adequate 220 and 110 outlets. I could bring alcohol and wine on board. Water and sodas are complimentary and water is always on the gangway as one debarks. Also, my cell phone ...
We began the cruise by sailing out of Istanbul, Turkey, at night surrounded by lights of all colors on buildings and bridges and the overwhelming sounds of prayers from minarets nearby and up into the hills. We ended the cruise by sailing into one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Cape Town, South Africa. In between we visited small villages to large cities in emerging nations to ...
