Very Disappointing

Review for Star Breeze to Mediterranean

10+ Cruises

Age 70s

This ship is in need of some TLC particularly to the outside public space. The pool had such a dark brown ring around it it just looked uninviting, even during the hot weather. Management appeared disorganised, for example, when 1 of the 2 tenders went out of service, passengers had to wait for long periods to disembark, there was no contingency plan for such an occurance. Due to very bad ...

Not worth it

2-5 Cruises

DO NOT BOOK this directly with Wind Star. Once they reeled you in, they never treated you like the customer. We found out other guests paid way less when they booked last minute. We paid top dollar only five months before the cruise and offered us nothing except a small credit to be used only on the ship. Nothing compared to the 66% less than other passengers paid. Moreover, when Wind Star ...

A Cruise Line that Does Not Appear to be Able to Define Itself

Review for Viking Star to Mediterranean

10+ Cruises

Age 60s

Overwhelmingly most of the cruisers were Viking River alumni. This was my first time on any Viking product so I did not have anything to compare it to (Viking wise). We have several friends that rave about Viking (river) and that along with the itinerary prompted me to book the cruise. As an aside, I did not realize that the cruise I was on was an inaugural cruise until I was on the ship. I ...

6-10 Cruises

I have procrastinated in writing this review because I have had difficulty determining a rating for this 50-day Viking Empire cruise. We had a fantastic time seeing so many different ports of call, seeing sights I never thought we’d get to see, meeting some fabulous people, eating great food, enjoying massages and facials, and experiencing a ice cold grotto after a steam room. On the other ...

Having sailed with Fred Olsen twice previously we thought we would try 5* luxury as Azamara had reduced the price following the itinerary change. Flew Turkish Airlines from LHR to Istanbul, good flight there & back, excellent cabin service. Embarkation was a bit hit & miss airport to ship but smooth once onboard. Had late lunch at the Pool Grill & then to cabin 6067 to unpack. Called up to main ...

6-10 Cruises

Age 60s

This is our first time on Oceania. The Insignia has been refurbished and this was her maiden cruise. The rooms are adequate. No frills, standard. The bathroom is very small and they have cleverly used a shower curtain vs a glass shower door to allow a little more space to maneuver in the shower. Ask for softer pillows. Housekeeping will bring them almost immediately The ship is very clean. The ...

This was a dream of mine to do a 5 star cruise in an exotic port, Istanbul we sailed to Ephesus,Santorini,Rome,Livorno,Monte Carlo,Marseille then Barcelona. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food amazing fresh made to order. The ship was well maintained, immaculately clean. The shows were entertaining, however some of the comedians weren't that funny. The casino was dead,no life in it and ...

Review for Seven Seas Voyager to Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

2-5 Cruises

Age 60s

We sailed with Regent on Seven Seas Voyager from Istanbul to Dubai over 21 nights. We booked and paid for a concierge level cabin and selected cabin 741 from the deck plans as we felt that, being midship and not too high, it would be more stable than some other cabins. After an absolute comedy of errors involving our booking disappearing completely, amongst other things, we finally boarded at ...

First Time Cruiser

We had long talked about booking a cruise, and spent a lot of time researching the different options and itineraries. As we have stayed with Regent Hotels before and we had read a lot if good things about Regent Seven Seas, when we this cruise, the Red Sea Odyssey, from Istanbul to Dubai, we thought it was a good choice. The cruise was very expensive and was the most expensive holiday we have ever ...

10+ Cruises

My husband and I had booked this cruise because it visited some different places. I particularly wanted to visit Volos because it offered a trip to the Meteora Monasteries in central Greece, which are otherwise hard to reach. So we were more than disappointed when told on boarding the ship that this stop was cancelled. Because of the problems with Superstorm Sandy, the ship was staying an extra ...
