We recently completed a 14-day Search for the Northern Lights cruise to Norway. Although we had quite a few days with rough seas, the Island Princess handled the seas well. Our cabin was spacious and the balcony was larger than on many ships. Some of the cabin furnishings clearly need to be replaced. Our mini-suite couch and chair looked very worn. The bed also had clear indentations of where ...
Can't say enough good things about this cruise. It started with an easy embarkation. The lines moved swiftly through security. Dropped my bags off in my cabin and headed for lunch. The buffet was good overall. We did have a few occasions when finding a table was difficult. The food and service were very good. Selection was vast as always with a great omelet station. Food in the MDR was ...
Our journey on the Island Princess was very enjoyable. Although we were disappointed in the declining quality of food, we found the service, friendliness of the staff, food presentation, & entertainment to be excellent. The itinerary was excellent as well.
We did an independent tour with Tours of Guernsey which was outstanding. Our guide was very knowledgable, friendly, & professional. We ...
Ocean view cabin Fiesta deck next to gym at back, above the propeller which meant no sleep from 4am every morning as loud noise and vibration. Full sailing so unable to move Cabins.
Mattress uncomfortable as dipped to the side.
Many passengers with Covid or as I and 50% had a hacking cough which could be heard everywhere and I still have it.
Too many passengers for size of ship. Explorers ...
We have done UK cruises before on Princess (and have also cruised Ireland on Princess and Holland America) and this time we tried to take in some new ports and took excursions to places we hadn't seen. I was especially interested in Portland, UK where we saw the "Rude Man" and beautiful Athelhampton House and Newcastle where we visited Hadrian's Wall and a Roman fort (really interesting). I was ...
We were excited about the itinerary, since it included Shetland and Orkney. Also, we got to see friends in Newcastle, and Wales. The ship was lovely, despite depressing prior reviews. Painting, carpeting upgrades, new balcony chairs and pool chairs were being added. There were serious lines at the restaurants. It was difficult to pre-book consistent dining without the app. The MaitreD did ...
I wanted to do another UK cruise go to places like Shetland and Newcastle as I’m a fan of the TV shows and also Liverpool as I had not been there. I’m just about through with long haul flights so I tried to book on the Iceland/Greenland tour but at the time (Feb), I was told all the solo cabins had been sold. I waited about 5 weeks and cabins became available again and I was able to book that tour ...
We haven’t cruised with Princess for the best part of 10 years, and never on the Island Princess.
Shes a classic style cruise liner and on the larger size of what we have been used to recently.
Embarking was quick and flawless at Southampton and we were in our cabin before 1pm.
An inside cabin to the rear of deck B, not far from the rear lifts and stairs. The “stateroom” was a good size ...
I enjoyed my cruise even though the excursions were very expensive.
Since arriving home I have tried to contact Princess three times to ask them to refund the money they took from my account for a bar bill that is incorrect because I did not order any drinks. Their online form does not work and when I rang them I was told to call the USA. I think this is a shocking way to treat customers. ...
This was my first Princess cruise and far from a good first impression. If it wasn’t for the fact that I already have a cruise booked on Sky Princess for next month, I would not book with them again. All I can do is hope that the experience will be better on a newer ship.
I knew this was an older ship but having sailed on several which are older I was shocked to see the state of it, ...
