Dining at sunset on formal night. We dressed but many folks did not. We wished we didn't also (less clothes to pack!)

After exclusively sailing on Oasis Class ships for the previous 10 years I was concerned about going down to Freedom Class with a sailing on Independence. A quick look at the recent reviews here further confirmed that this would be the worst vacation of my life… I’m very pleased to say that we thoroughly enjoyed our cruise and would absolutely sail on the Independence of the Seas again! Perhaps ...

We were part of the Cleveland Browns Fan Cruise Group on this cruise. We chose a Junior Suite on Deck 10 and were very pleased with it. CABIN: A Positives Our steward, JR, was very funny and quite accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the balcony for breakfast three of the five mornings. There was more than enough space to store all of our items. I am pretty sure we ...

Had a company cruise coming up, and my partner was unable to go, and I was informed I owed her a cruise. Well, fair enough, booked this one, and had a lovely time of it. I will say that the city of Miami is a bit expensive and all of our uber drivers got lost at least once, so that was odd, but the cruise itself was fantastic. While I don't recall his name, our steward was particularly great, ...

Lovely ship, excellent crew and food

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Independence of the Seas

We wanted to get across the Atlantic without flying. This ship has exceeded our expectations. I love that even though they refurbished it, they have preserved the deck where you can walk around the whole ship outside and the stream/sauna changing room in the fitness center is still open to everyone. It doesn’t feel like the money grab that some do. The food has been consistently excellent, ...

1st time cruise GREAT EXPERIENCE

As a family of 7 we had 3 separate cabins with balcony. It was great to have the balcony rooms to experience the ship saying into towards the islands/locations we were visiting. The cabins were comfortable for sleeping. We could have done with more storage space for our 2 weeks work of clothes. The dining experience was fantastic thanks to the 2 at tentative waiters in the Main Dining room. In ...

So many ways this exceeded expectations

Having booked this cruise with friends I didn't look at the reviews until after. Well I can tell you that initially myself and another in our party started to get bad vibes from the reviews. However, seriously I found the whole experience to be amazing and often reflected on how any little things were done to exceed expectations. ALL the staff were so friendly and genuinely helpful, they would go ...

We are a retired couple who enjoy cruising, so decided to cross the Atlantic to Florida, via the Caribbean, to enjoy some sunshine & heat. Embarking was straightforward, although there seemed to a be lot of people who apparently don't realise that the crew have a hard job getting the ship ready for pax. We actually saw from our hotel room, people arriving, expecting to board the ship at 09.15 ...

We planned a Caribbean cruise for our retirement present and weren’t disappointed. Together with our 14yr old son and 16 yr old daughter we departed for Xmas cruise of the Eastern Caribbean taking in the islands of Labadee, San Juan Puerto Rico, Antigua, St Martin and St Kitts, aboard The Independence of the Seas. The first night on arrival in Miami was spent in the Turnberry resort, a ...

This was our second Christmas cruise with RCCL with the first one being in 2015 on the Serenade of the Seas. This was just as good, if not better!! We were happy to see Christmas caroling and midnight mass being offered again as well. What also pleasantly surprised us was the amount of people at midnight mass. The group that traveled was my family of 4 and my in laws. We had a total of three ...

Its our 50th wedding anniversary (Dec. 17,2017) so my husband and I decided to treat ourselves for the first time we go for Cruise. We're kind of nervous and do not know what to expect so invited our friends, so now we're total of 8 people. When we were at the port, I was so amazed with the size of the boat( I guess this is expected from a first time cruiser). Finaly we got inside, went to ...
