Lovely non cruise cruise

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Polarlys

Hurtigruten sailings Bergen to Bergen are a relaxed way in a small ship of experiencing many many small ports up and down the Norwegian coast . No stop is longer than 3 hours most a lot less so little chance of exploring any of it to any depth but enough to get a good overview for further exploration . Some extra excursions supplied but several did not run for weather or lack of numbers reasons. ...

This was our first cruise and we chose it in the advice of our local travel agent. We were not disappointed! The service provided by the staff was excellent throughout the trip. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff were keen to know of any allergies and careful to ensure food was appropriate. The breakfasts catered for all tastes and the lunches and dinners provided a real ...

We selected this cruise owing to the relaxed atmosphere, lack of formality, range of activities and trips available following recommendation by a friend. It was everything we hoped for and more. The restaurant food on full board was excellent with a meat , fish and vegetarian selection at each sitting. The team on board supporting exploration were excellent and all staff skilled in good ...

The journey with Hurtigruten was really fantastic. From the first moment to departure everything was super organized. The team on the MS Polarlys really deserves a lot of praise! I am amazed by the high standard. The food was very great quality and prepared with a lot of love, the breakfast buffet left nothing to be desired. The shop is also well equipped and you can buy very nice ...

The whole experience blew my mind!

I will start off by Hurtigruten make it very clear in their advertising the coastal voyage is not a cruise, so if you go with that expectation you have not done your homework properly and might be disappointed. If you want to have an authentic adventure, voyage to the Artic and back, learn and experience Norwegian culture and coastal life, see the most wonderful scenery, relax and escape the ...

We are a married couple of 63 and 66 years, and have long wanted this trip to see Norway from the coastal side. It was a wonderful experience. Norway showed its high mountains and deep fjords from its best side. On the ship which is not very big, we got beautiful food from Norwegian local ingredients and good service, and good information about the places we passed. No stressful ...

We chose this cruise as it is a ferry and not overally "touristy" as an anniversary and birthday present for us. This was such an experience. The staff are amazing the scenery is fantastic. Normally we never repeat a holiday BUT this is an exception. We had a partial view cabin which was very comfy as we thought we may spend some time there on the days we had nothing planned, however there ...

I went on this cruise with my brother and his wife. We had always wanted to visit Norway and thought the winter cruise with the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights would be a great idea. We were not disappointed - we did see the lights although personally I was disappointed that they appeared like grey "clouds" and it was only through a good camera lens where the exposure could be left ...

Just returned from a 11 day Northern Lights voyage along the Norwegian coast to Kirkenes and back to Bergen - and it was mind blowing. I've returned relaxed, pampered and looking to book another cruise - with Hurtigurten. Never will I grace Royal Caribbean, or Princess again No casinos, no spas, no entertainment crews - it was education, relaxing and no hard sell. Cabins were basic, ...
