One of the best cruises I have been on.

I wanted to see the Northern Lights and the Norwegian fjords and felt Hurtigruten was the best company to provide this. Furthermore, Hurtigruten offers a free 7 day cruise if the Northern Lights are not seen. Hurtigruten did not disappoint. We saw the Northern Lights on two occasions and with Hurtigruten's long experience sailing in the Norwegian fjords the crew was able to avoid bad weather ...

Outstanding

I wanted to see the fjords and what better way than on a working ship. I was travelling with a friend on my first cruise. It was amazing. The crew were outstanding and everything went like clock work. Excellent lectures and excursions to suit everyone. These were also graded in terms of fitness and disability. A massive variety of food catering for all tastes and diets with nothing being too much ...

An unforgettable experience

We chose this trip because we wanted to travel on a smaller working ship and experience first hand what daily life is like for the people living along the northern coasts of Norway. As our tour leader said very correctly: "this is not a cruise but a sea voyage, the entertainment is outside". And he was right: the magnificent, awe inspiring landscapes, the small quaint towns and villages huddled on ...

Fantastic opportunity to visit ports along the coast of Norway.

This cruise came highly recommended by a friend. Our itinerary was 6 nights from South to North ending in Kirkenes. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience of visiting the different ports along the coast. It was very interesting to see what happened at each port, sometimes just supplies were loaded or post was delivered. At other times, passengers embarked or disembarked. We ...

We chose this cruise because it explored the fjords all the way up to the northern most points of Norway. It is not a cruise ship in the conventional sense but instead combines being a working boat and a cruise ship. Our cabin was fine with a good view on deck 6. The food was good quality and the restaurant staff were excellent. The excursion staff combined selling excursions with being ...

BEWARE!!!! My Wife and I went on the Vesteralen I'm not sure if spelling correct but it doesn't matter it was the worst holiday we have had in our lives and couldn't wait to get of the boat The officers on board were rude and not customer focused The accommodation was two bunk beds in a room that could hardly fit two people in it I had to sleep on the floor as the top bunk made me ...

A fantastic cruise along the Norwegian fjords to the land of the midnight sun..

We chose this cruise because of Hurtigruten's reputation for providing the best and most authentic trip to the North Cape of Europe. We really liked the idea that we would be travelling on a "working boat" which was still an important link for many of the more remote communities on the Norwegian north coast. The trip was well beyond our expectations. The boat was very comfortable, with our ...

The tour was a gorgeous visual smorgasbord, especially when the sun shone. Sea eagle cruise was a big highlight.

Always been interested in seeing the Norwegian coast, especially in the north. We had both very positive and some negative experiences. The first excursion to North Cape was a disappointment. Slogging along on a long bus ride with a guide who was not engaged or interesting. We received very little information about organizing our time at the Cape and Museum. Consequently, when we did find out ...

We booked this cruise for July 2020 but due to the Covid-19 epidemic, it became July 2022. Us and our friends in Sweden have been very much looking forwards this trip and finally it happened. Our friends chose the cruise and booked the whole thing. We had never heard of Hutigruten but they knew others that have done this cruise before. We are very happy with the choice. We enjoyed it very much. ...
