Comprehensive trip with many highlights

Review for Maud to Europe - British Isles & Western

This expedition cruise appealed to us as it was informal, the pricing was clear and the ship visited a wide range of locations, many never visited by other cruises. In addition there was the option to be as active and adventurous as you liked; kayaking, zodiac cruises, science activities, art and crafts, hiking and just being a tourist were all on offer. Three very good meals a day with ...

Service with a smile

Wanted to see Norway and the Midnight Sun so chose this trip. Being honest the ship is a little tired but to be fair we were given a credit to reflect this. Stayed in the lowest level of suite which proved to be a good choice as the lower grade cabins did look a little small. Only comment on the suite was, although there was good wardrobe space, there were no hooks to hang outdoor wear on ...

This was our first expedition cruise with Hurtigruten. The welcome on board was amazing and the staff were all so professional. The food was above excellent and the staff made this trip a very special occasion. Totally impressed and would highly recommend. We can’t wait to go back on board. This was a true adventure and the small boat cruising was incredible. A trip of a lifetime and special ...

Unforgettable - for all the best reasons

This cruise was my fourth Hurtigruten experience, the first two having been the traditional Hurtigruten round trip between Bergen and Kirkenes (near the Soviet border) and back. The third was a one-way coastal voyage to Kirkenes in the 1990s followed by a side visit to the Sami people in northern Finland. My wife and I had been attracted to another fjord-type holiday for some time and selected the ...

Some brilliant birdwatching, walking and history

Review for Maud to Baltic Sea

We chose this to visit some of the remote island on the west side of the Uk. We had great weather which is not always the case. I was not impressed with the motorised dinghies for going ashore which were quite uncomfortable particularly when the sea was choppy. However we visited some brilliant place. Rathlin island and St Kilda were the best. The ship is small and there were only 400 ...

We, 2 senior citizens, chose this cruise primarily because of the itinerary, i.e. visits to Rathlin Island, Iona, St. Kilda and the Isles of Scilly, amongst others. We had to wear masks on board in most enclosed areas, but these were provided free of charge. The MS Maud is a fairly small ship, so it was very easy to learn the layout and get around the ship. This was our first Hurtigruten ...

Scenic cruise to beautiful fjords

As our first cruise experience, we liked the idea of an Expedition Cruise on a small ship with lots of activities and special interests ie nature & photography. Norway has been on our wish list for some time and the trip was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic so we were especially excited when we learnt it was now going ahead. It did not disappoint! We boarded the ship in Dover which was a bit ...

We travelled on the 'Island Hopping in the Hebrides' cruise on 3 May 2022. The first four days were in perfect weather including a landing on St Kilda. Thereafter the weather deteriorated . We had not been informed when booking that all landings were on zodiacs and very weather dependent. The weather was in fact not unusual for the West of Scotland in May. Similar sized inter- island car ferries ...

Amazing cruise of British Isles

We had done a fantastic Norwegian Coastal Cruise/ Northern Lights with Hurtigruten 5 years ago. We so admired the focus on science, shore experiences and excellent food. The British Isles cruise offered even more off-boat excursions and the varied talents of the expedition guides made for a lifetime of memories. The offerings gave very active guests plenty of stimulation while also offering ...

Really the most beautiful voyage in the world

The relaxed, open Scandinavian atmosphere on board paired with the great service in all areas but above with the grandiose landscape that constantly passing you by made the trip an expierience. The expeditionteam around Heinz with his assitants Eva und Hegge always prepaired us excellently for the next day with their presentations. They brought us closer to Norway in a good mood. Every ...
