Amazing scenery, great crew

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Maud

Chosen for the Northern Lights, the cruise became more about the scenery and overall experience on MS Maud. The boat was less than half full due to covid restrictions which no doubt helped as we didn't have to worry about queuing for excursions and received amazing service and support from all the crew. The excursions were well described and organised and mostly we were able to join everything we ...

Nice boat and food but nothing to do, expensive extras and very short stops

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Richard With

Wife wanted to see obscure bits of Norway but not for 20 minutes in the dark when everything closed. Food very good but very small portions - captive audience. Expensive. Default cabin was the very worst - why? Soft drinks and wifi were chargeable extras. Lots of Norway in very small chunks - We started in Kirkenes and went to Trondheim in November 2022. Windows from cabin could ...

Great ship, great staff and great travel

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Nordkapp

We have traveled from Bergen to Trondheim on MS NORDKAPP Hurtigruten's ship. It has been a great experience. We'll repeat with Hurtigruten and if it is possible, with MS NORDKAPP, but this time from Bergen to Kirkenes. After check in, a very good reception on board, and personal wellcome to all passengers. Very good breakfast, lunch and dinner. A spectacular panoramic views in the bar at ...

Challenging to book what I wanted

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Nordlys

User Avatar

I sailed on this ship on 11th October but only for four nights between Bergen and Tromso. Booking was the first challenge. Although the Nordlys is part of the Hurtigruten group and used by local people in Norway to travel between small ports up and down the coast, in the UK the website seems intent on only allowing you to book an 11 night sailing (Bergen to North Cape and return). I had to phone ...

A journey on a working ship stopping at many ports.

We chose this cruise because the company have been doing this itinerary for many years. We had gone with them 2 years ago through the NW Passage on the Roald Amundsen ship and were very disappointed with the ship and the staff. We were offered a discount on our next cruise, and chose an itinerary that the company had done many times. This was a good choice. The cruise was great. It was ...

Promising Cruise Line with beautiful new ships, but no Butler for the Suites ☹️

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Fridtjof Nansen

It's a must to try Hurtigruten Cruise Line, their new additions are just comfortable and beautiful. There is pretty much everything available on board, except Entertainment, which honestly felt great, who needs it on expeditions cruises?! and Butlers for the Suites, which is a Shame. How nice would it be to have your Butler booking a dinner or serving breakfast or, etc.... and for the prices ...

Fine cruise with unexpected adventures

My woman and I had an excellent cruise in summer 2017 with MS Midnatsol to Norway's fjords, so we wanted to make another cruise to see the northern lights in Norway. It was sometimes adventurous and challenging, because the weather was more stormy than in many years before. So the agenda of some days had again to be scheduled. My compliments to our tourist guide and the hotel manager who ...

Northern Lights Spectacular

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Otto Sverdrup

We took this cruise because it offered the opportunity to see the Northern Lights which we did on several occasions. Without seeing the lights, my rating would have been lower. The ship through its announcement system (press the information button on your room phone when you want to hear the announcements) lets you know when the lights appear regardless of the time. Our cruise left a day ...

Lovely trip in the winter to the far north of Norway

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Otto Sverdrup

We chose this cruise to see the northern lights and to experience the winter darkness and both of these expectations were fully met. The views were wonderful, particularly when we sailed into the Trollfiord. The atmosphere was relaxed and food good, although we struggled with the buffet lunch and breakfast - not easy to find a table and food not hot. There was plenty of seating in the lounge ...
