Amazing Scenery, Wonderful Staff, but a few opps!

I've been to over 130 countries and this was a huge 'bucket list' destination for me. Sailing in the Arctic was one of the most beautiful sights of my life. The ship has been nicely refurbished. The staff was wonderful, especially the expedition team. They were very kind, patient, and knowledgeable. was a repositioning voyage so we had more staff than guests. Some disappointments: no working hot ...

Excellent Food, Beautiful Scenery, Okay Cabin

This coastal cruise was part of a bigger tour with Overseas Adventure Travel. We had no choice of the cabin assignments, except for window or no, twin or double bed. We were on the third deck in cabin 390. It had 2 bunk beds, and another that could be switched to a couch. Bathroom was very small. We had full board, premium internet, wine or beer with meals, and unlimited coffee and tea with our ...

The Northwest Passage on the MS Roald Amundsen First Impressions and General Observations The voyage began well. The Air Greenland flight was uneventful and Hurtigruten personnel were ready at Kangerlussuaq to see us to transportation to the boat. We felt some concern at the dock because it was dark and some of us do need to be careful where we are stepping, but we swiftly and safely ...

We've just spent 9 days on Hurtigrutens ms Spitsbergen on an expedition cruise circumnavigating Spitsbergen, Svalbard. Apart from the fact that expedition cruising is exciting, we were pleasantly surprised by the ship and its crew. The arctic superior cabin 621 is light and big enough but lacks drawer space and has no couch nor desk. The window blind adequately blocked out the 24 hr summer ...

Amazing scenery and very good staff

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Trollfjord

We chose the cruise on MS Trollfjord after seeing an article in a women's magazine the previous year. It was a Northern Lights cruise with Wildlife. Michael Strachan was on the ship for a few days which was an added attraction. We had to book through Iglu Cruises/Planet Cruise and felt that it would have been better to have booked directly with Hurtigruten. Iglu told us that one of the ...

I thought the classic round trip would give me the best opportunity to see the Northern lights. Overall the trip exceeded my expectations. The ship was very good and run in an efficient way. The staff were very hardworking, particularly the restaurant waiter service. Their language skills & friendly service were excellent. I cannot fault the choice and standard of food. Yes the excursions ...

We chose this cruise because we wanted to see the northern lights. We saw the northern lights but so much more. The scenery was spectacular, the weather was kind to us. The crew could not have been more helpful. they were efficient, polite and friendly. They seemed to genuinely enjoy their work. In general the service was excellent. There was a good choice of activities on board but plenty of time ...

Staggering Natural Beauty Among the Elderly

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Richard With

We chose this cruise because we wanted to travel up the coast of Norway to the Arctic Circle and experience the natural beauty of such a voyage. We knew that Hurtigruten wasn't a typical "luxury" cruise company, despite the high, price, but were willing to make that trade-off for the hiking and other "adventures" available along the way. The headline is: We are glad we did this and would do it ...

My wife and I had always wanted to cruise up the Norwegian coast and hurtigruten appeared to be the only choice when I checked online. We are experienced cruisers so knew what to expect ie this is not a cruise ship but a working ship. We were there for the scenery and the Norwegian experience and we were not disappointed. The crew were very informal friendly and relaxed, the scenery was terrific ...
