Have used princess on several occasions on repositionings instead of flying. Fact that I live in Houston made it very convenient eliminating flying. We got a brochure that had an excellent price and a time frame we liked. We also liked that we could fly to Houston non-stop. The tips were paid by Carnival so that was another selling point for us. This was our first cruise with Norwegian and the first freestyle one. We liked it very much. No overly dressy clothes to pack, just some nice pants/slacks, shirts/blouses did the job for dining. Even though the Jade is going in for remodeling, we loved the old Hawaiian decor. We thought it was really elegant and not gaudy. Service was excellent. We chose the transatlantic cruise out of the Houston port on NCL Jade because it was the last time NCL would be embarking from Houston. The embarkation was fast and easy. We had a fun time on this ship. It appears there is a TA crowd that we plugged into from cruise critic and we had a blast getting together on sailaways, a daily game of LCR which grew larger (and louder) every day, the cabin crawl and met some wonderful people. We would definitely do it again.
