We had fantastic weather, great excursions and enjoyed the cruise. We arrived on the Friday and checked into the Doubletree beside the Bush Airport it had a supplied shuttle and we went to a cajun restaurant down the street and had fantastic seafood dishes. We bought a few drinks and snacks for the cruise had a leisurely breakfast and ordered an uber to get us to the port. It was simple ...

We booked this cruise when we first found out about it arriving in Houston. The reviews when it first started sailing were not very good, and we were nervous about what to expect. From embarkation to disembarkation we were pleasantly surprised. We chose the arrival time of 10:30 am and were on board by 11:30 am. We were told that rooms would all by ready by 1 pm, but we only had to wait ...

Let's get down to business here. We ended up upgrading to a 2 bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms, living room, dining room table and awesome LaVazza coffee machine. So we had a refuge. Refuge from what? Read on. How people can say it's a "beautiful" ship? If Grayhound had a cruise line, this ship would be part of the fleet. It's great if you're paying up to $500 and not paying for all the ...

NCL JADE, Great Vacation

We had a great time on the NCL Jade. We only ate in the included venues and all meals were very satisfying. Hot foods hot, cold foods cold. Very flavorful meals.Fantastic wait staff in the main dining room. Frasier was a blessing for my family. He was there for us for breakfasts in the Grand Pacific and he was there for us in Alizar for supper. We never even wanted for water. He was always ...

Well this was our first NCL cruise, having gone on Carnival our other two trips. We found the cruise lines very comparable. Embarkation was fine, a bit of a line but went smoothly, on boat with in half hour and we got to port around 1:00pm. Can't recommend paying the $100pp for the NCL transportation since we arrived at 10:30am and had to wait for a few flights to arrive before we could ...

Spring Break

I am a high school teacher, and Spring Break is one of the few times in the year I can travel without having to take personal vacation days. Consequently, although I prefer to not be around children and teenagers on my vacation, there really is no way to avoid them on a Spring Break cruise. Nevertheless, with a little strategic planning it can be done, and you can have a relaxing and enjoyable ...

Cons: This cruise line does not compare to Carnival or Royal Caribbean. We will not sail with Norwegian in the future. First, the ship smells terrible; like a hospital cafeteria. The food is average at best and service is not what we expected. Numerous times we called the service hotline and could not get anyone to answer. In order to get an iron, you must call then wait on other guest to return a ...

Better than We Expected

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Jade

This cruise on Norwegian Jade was only our second cruise, with the first one being on Royal Caribbean. We had been told that RC was the only way to go so when we decided to book this it was with the expectation of "We paid half the price so we only expect half." We were so very wrong! While not as grand as the Freedom of the Seas, it was every bit as elegant, clean and fun. We arrived in ...

We Loved the Jade!!

You've read the mixed reviews good and bad so here's mine. Whatever issues the Jade had, yes they were admittedly real according to the staff, those issues are long gone. This is a great cruise, well done by a hard working crew. Do yourself a great vacation, enjoy an outstanding ship, a quality experience, and just be informed ahead about how some things work as much as you can. Embarkation ...
