Nice common areas on deck - appreciated the stage area in a central spot that was consistent with music and entertainment throughout sea days and in the afternoons as cruisers were returning to the ship.

Great ship and crew

my wife and I sailed on the Jewel for the second time this year and found it just as good as the first time we sailed on her. During the entire trip we had no issues with any one or anything on board. the meals were above average to great and this covered room service all the way to the paid restaurants. the staff, from room stewards, bar staff and senior staff were the best we have encountered in ...

We just got off of the Norwegian Jewel two days ago. This was the first cruise for my wife and I. Before we headed out, we wondered how it would compare to the land-based vacations we have taken in the past...Here is what we thought: About us: To give you a little perspective, we are a couple in our early to mid 40s. We have three children, but none of them accompanied us on this cruise (for ...

A Great Time As Always

Just returned from the April 4th sailing on the Jewel. This was our 5th cruise, having been on the Star, Breakaway(twice), and the Epic. We had an AMAZING time. Not sure why people are saying that the ship is “worn” or “dated”. This ship is from 2005, hardly “dated”. Some of the carpet may be a bit faded in places, but does that really ruin your cruise? We had booked a window stateroom, ...

This was my first cruise however my partner had been on many. We were very impressed with the ship and all of the amenities it had to offer in addition to the staff who were all outgoing and friendly all of the time. Our stateroom was at the back of the ship on 11th level and it was awesome with a balcony where we could sit and look out onto the ocean and beautiful skylights. In addition we paid ...

Yearly vacation success

Me and my partner have cruised once before, a few years ago. We liked it so much that we decided to try it again for our vacation this year. She teaches at a university, so the week of spring break was our only option. We got a fantastically cheap deal; even with airfare from LA it was the cheapest exotic international vacation option we could find. The ship is in fine shape, don't let the ...

My husband and I have been on 12 cruises but February 2015 we took our first NCL cruise out or Houston on the Norwegian Jewel. We had an amazing time. Everything was so organized. They got us on and off the ship in record time. The staff was knowledgeable and courteous. The food was always scrumptious. My favorites were the chicken pot pie and the buffalo wings at O'Sheehan's and the french toast ...

FANTASTIC first time on the Jewel

We cruise on the Norwegian Jewel January 17th - January 24th, visiting Cozumel, Belize and Roatan. We are experienced cruisers; this was our 10th cruise, but our first on Norwegian, in the past we've cruised with Carnival and Princess. This cruise blew our expectations away, probably one of the best cruises we've ever had. The crew was FANTASTIC, so friendly and welcoming, engaging with the ...

Aside from the Trujillo mangrove tour, a wonderful vacation

We enjoyed our time on the Jewel. We enjoyed the freedom of Norwegian's freestyle dining. We mostly ate lunches and breakfasts in the Garden Cafe, and dinners in Tsar's Palace. The food was consistently high-quality and diverse; as a fan of Asian food, I especially appreciated the Cafe's rotation of Asian dishes. We thought about trying Azura, but the decor in there looked lackluster compared to ...

NCL Jewel -- Houston/Cozumel/Belize City/Roatan Honduras We were excited to find this cruise out of Houston on the NCL Jewel, as we could drive and not have to incur any airfare/hotel. Visit the Houston Bayport Terminal website to get updates on the road construction. The terminal itself is super easy -- pull up to the drop off and give your bags to the attendants with carts. That's it! Your ...

Great Time and Very Relaxing; Excellent Value

The Jewel is an older ship that is showing signs of wear and tear, but the staff works extremely hard to ensure that you have a wonderful time. We were impressed by the number of times we were approached by senior staff to ask if there was anything they could do to make our trip better. Clearly, management is embracing a top down approach to customer service, and we are most appreciative! There ...
