After years of turning down cruise options for a vacation my wife and I finally gave in and went on this one during spring break with our youngest son and his family, including three younger children. We had a wonderful time, weather was great, and we just can't say enough about the staff. Everyone of them were outstanding. Special "shout-out" to Elvis in the dining room and Leon who took care of our stateroom all week. These two gentlemen went way above and beyond whatever their job description states. The shore excursion that we all enjoyed in particular was swimming with rays and sharks off the coast of Belize. While the smaller boat trip was a bit long, it was well worth it and the cost as the guides (especially Phillipe who was assigned to us) were extremely helpful. He was incredibly attentive and made sure our younger grandchildren, as well as my wife (who didn't even snorkel in Hawaii!) felt safe and had the opportunity to experience everything possible along the reef. A life-remembering experience on this excursion. Another huge shout-out to the Navigator of the Seas staff who made every possible attempt to keep us healthy by constantly cleaning all public areas. None of us, not even the children, had any sickness whatsoever. My wife and I are discriminating travelers so to give this high of an evaluation is meaningful. Read Less

This is the fifth cruise on the Navigator and with the renovations she looks great. We stayed in a balcony at the stern which was a first. Loved the extra lounge chairs and the larger deck room but was a long walk to everything. Was terribly disappointed to see they quit having the waiters sing for us and also that we could not have a set dining time (not my time). My mother is hard of hearing so I enjoy talking and meeting others during the dinner time and many times we had to sit alone. Our ports of call were great except I did not care to get off the ship at Cozumel with 8 cruise ships at port. I had been there many times before so no great loss. On the other hand, Belize Zoo was fantastic and a 2 tank dive in Roatan was Awesome with Sun Divers (only 5 of us and no other divers at the sites). It is too bad that RC has gone heavy into pushing all their pay extra activities. I kind of felt like they really are over doing that and need to back down. I am not on vacation to be pushed but to relax and make my own decisions. We did not dine at any of the specialty restaurants and did not feel the need to. The food was great on board and the service fantastic. Read Less

Service was excellent everywhere. The crew goes out of their way to be friendly ad accommodating. The ship itself is amazing and beautifully maintained. If you are a drinker, make sure and buy "UP" - the Ultimate Package. All premium alcohol is included, as is Starbucks coffee. At $9-11 USD per drink, you don't have to be a lush to get value from this package. Now the weaknesses: 1. Internet. Horribly slow and grotesquely expensive. If you need Internet, buy the unlimited package. I bought two one hour packages and wasted my money. It can take 15 minutes to log on ad just download some email. 2. Restrooms. They didn't build enough in the public areas. Usually lines in both men's and woemn's. 3. Food in the dining rooms. It is just "OK," nothing special, and feels mass-produced as it is. I actualy found the food in the coffee shop (next to Starbucks) to be the most consistent. The sushi bar is also excellent (but it is a la carte.) 4. Itinerary. I have been on many cruises and generally stay on the ship now. That is especially true in Roatan, Belize and Cozumel -- all not worth the time unless you are going on a tour to do something you like. Otherwise, nothing worth seeing in these places. Overall, I would rate the experience "good," but always leave cruises wondering why I didn't just find a 4 or 5-star all-inclusive and spend less time traveling and more time relaxing. Read Less

Left out of Galveston for a 7-night cruise to the Eastern Caribbean. Ship had been recently refurbished and was beautiful! We had a balcony suite on deck 8. Big cabin with plenty of storage space and a nice couch. Plenty of room even with beds separated into twins. Food was very good (desserts were a little disappointing, but that was a minor "problem"). Crew was amazingly attentive and friendly and many went above and beyond to give cordial service. We had traditional early seating in the dining room; never had a long wait for someone to take our drink orders, and by the third night they all knew our preferences and were right on it. Plenty of lounges around the pool area (never had to search for space), and deck attendance was also good for drink service, etc. Shows were great; loved the main shopping area (beautiful atrium setting that had a main-street feel). Full breakfast was available through room service at no extra charge, so we enjoyed breakfast on the balcony several mornings. Ports of call were fun; Falmouth, Jamaica port shopping was nice. Grand Cayman we did a private yacht snorkeling that was awesome, and Cozumel is always fun. Only very slight criticisms we had were announcements were sometimes difficult to hear, especially if you were by the pool, and there were sometimes very long waits for the elevators (especially at dinner time). All in all a great cruise, and we would for sure book with RC again. Read Less
