Having read a couple of negative reviews I feel compelled to balance it, in favour or Princess who, in our opinion were impeccable. There is one recent review that frankly after reading the 6th sub heading I stopped, and it says to me nothing in this world would seem to please that person.
For us - the service was second to none - the food was outstanding - the cabin was admittedly tiny, but ...
Compared to our first sailing with Princess, this ship did a fine job with service. The Caribbean Princess was also in better condition. On the Grand Princess (sailed 2011), the stewards and dining room staff were so overworked they appeared feverish with exhaustion. While the crew certainly had to work hard on this sailing, they appeared to have been allowed time to sleep. Special kudos to ...
We are experienced cruisers, but this is the first time we have ever cruised with Princess. 29 members of our extended family joined us over Spring Break to help celebrate our parents' 60th wedding anniversary. The staff was very helpful in making the celebration -- and the entire week -- special.
The food in the Palms dining room was very good -- in fact, the best lobster I've ever eaten. ...
This was my first cruise and my husband's first as an adult. We enjoyed it very much. It was very low stress and relaxing. We plan to do more cruising the the future.
Ship: The ship was clean, well maintained, and nicely appointed. While each bar had its own vibe and decor, the three dining rooms were all very much the same. Once I was in a dining room, I couldn't tell which one I was ...
The cruise my wife and booked and what we actually sailed ended up being two different things entirely; and while there was disappointment that we we unable to dock in Key West, we did end up going to Nassau which was very nice. Before I proceed with this review any further, I need to address some misinformation provided in the previous review by bcsjr. In fairness to Princess they did send my ...
I'll start with the bad to get it out of the way. There were only 2 things that I felt were bad on this cruise. The first and foremost being the smell of sewage on some areas of the deck. I am assuming they had some kind of ventilation issue. The second thing was the ship is staring to show its age. It is ready for dry-dock. I think it will get that in 2017.
Now for the good. Every staff ...
We have previously been on Norwegian (3 times) and were looking to try another cruise line. The Caribbean Princess sailing out of Houston seemed to fit out schedule and price range well, so we signed on.
Our first concern was the transfers from IAH airport - we didn't have a time or anything to meet, so we just showed up at 9:30 (we flew in the day before and stayed at an airport hotel with ...
My wife and I went on a 7 night cruise to Cozueml, Roatan and Belize aboard the Caribbean Princess. This is our 5th cruise together and 1st with princess. The ship is the perfect size for us and the decks were easy to navigate. Its an old ship, 12 years now and needs an update. This review is based on the overall experience.
CABIN:
We had a balcony on deck 10 forward. The room was modern, ...
We left Houston late due to fog and so missed Costa Maya. First night seas were "roly poly" (Captain's words) but the weather cleared once we arrived in Roatan. Due to our delay, we were unable to make Mahogany Bay in Roatan and instead had to tender in from the other side of the island which is not as "tourist ready". Our snorkeling in Roatan with Jolly Roger was very nice, although a little ...
On DEC 6, the Cabin C518 on the Caribbean Princess had a generous size balcony. The location was good but I could have been closer to the elevators. The sewer gas odor had been mentioned on CC so I was not surprised when it was quite prominent on board. The odor finally cleared in most of the ship by day 4. I filed a complaint card. The response by the front desk was that they were doing ...
