Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Jade

This was out first time cruising on NCL. We are still up in the air on whether will will sail on this line again. The first disappointment was transport from the airport. Having never gone out of Houston before be prepared to pay a fortune. NCL told us twice - over the phone and at the airport that the bus transport would be 50 dollars a piece round trip. Sounded fair. We signed up, it was ...

A Little Disappointing

This was our sixth cruise and my parents first. We took our two children, ages 5 and 7 as well. We drove from the Dallas area and my parents drove from San Antonio. We all stayed at the Best Western Suites close to the port since they offer free breakfast and parking. The hotel was ok, but I did see moldy spots in the bathroom, very poor construction/repair work done around the hotel that ...

Relaxing stress-reducing week; not perfect but we will do it again.

This was my first cruise and my husband's first as an adult. We enjoyed it very much. It was very low stress and relaxing. We plan to do more cruising the the future. Ship: The ship was clean, well maintained, and nicely appointed. While each bar had its own vibe and decor, the three dining rooms were all very much the same. Once I was in a dining room, I couldn't tell which one I was ...

We are experienced cruisers, but this is the first time we have ever cruised with Princess. 29 members of our extended family joined us over Spring Break to help celebrate our parents' 60th wedding anniversary. The staff was very helpful in making the celebration -- and the entire week -- special. The food in the Palms dining room was very good -- in fact, the best lobster I've ever eaten. ...

NCL Jade and the Haven during Spring Break

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Jade

Summary: Let me cut to the chase, by the time we left the ship, we had already booked two more cruises on NCL. However, that is not to say NCL and the Jade is without flaws. But for the money, my DW and I felt our 3/12 NCL Jade cruise was wonderful and a great value. Boarding/Embarkation: This part of the review will very soon be irrelevant as NCL has decided to not sail out of Houston. ...

This was my first Princess cruise. Compared to my other cruises all on Carnival I rated this one average. I was surprised at how much ship movement I could feel, bouncing from wall to wall on occasion. The staff was overall very helpful and pleasant. It was disappointing that the public area bathrooms often did not work (only 1 stall for women outside of the theater-really?) The food was ok, ...

A Great Spring Break!

We did this same itinerary on the Jewel last year, and booked for Jade right after we got home. However, having learned from our experience, this time we booked a 2 bedroom family suite in the Haven. (on the Jewel, nobody slept because my kids dont sleep well in general). This was the BEST MOVE EVER. We drove down the night before and stayed at the Best Western Seabrook. Prior to checking ...

We had fantastic weather, great excursions and enjoyed the cruise. We arrived on the Friday and checked into the Doubletree beside the Bush Airport it had a supplied shuttle and we went to a cajun restaurant down the street and had fantastic seafood dishes. We bought a few drinks and snacks for the cruise had a leisurely breakfast and ordered an uber to get us to the port. It was simple ...

We booked this cruise when we first found out about it arriving in Houston. The reviews when it first started sailing were not very good, and we were nervous about what to expect. From embarkation to disembarkation we were pleasantly surprised. We chose the arrival time of 10:30 am and were on board by 11:30 am. We were told that rooms would all by ready by 1 pm, but we only had to wait ...

Let's get down to business here. We ended up upgrading to a 2 bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms, living room, dining room table and awesome LaVazza coffee machine. So we had a refuge. Refuge from what? Read on. How people can say it's a "beautiful" ship? If Grayhound had a cruise line, this ship would be part of the fleet. It's great if you're paying up to $500 and not paying for all the ...
