Overall Good Experience on Short 4 Night Cruise

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Caribbean Princess

Had one of the worst starts to cruise with over 90 minutes waiting in various line ups for embarkation. So slow that they had to delay lifeboat drill as the line up was still very long at 3pm when normally everyone is onboard. Appears staff were still in training mode. No Princess staff outside of building, only Port Police. Lots of older people with clear handicaps were waiting in long lines. We ...

Panama Canal 19 Night Cruise NCL We are an active retired couple who have been on about ten cruises and especially enjoy longer ones with many sea days. Cruising on the Jewel through the canal was an outstanding experience. The crew and fellow passengers were exceptionally friendly and the ship was in very good condition; very clean and well administrated. I had worried about the ...

As we live not far from the port of Houston, taking all our needs for 29 days worked fine in 4 large suitcases. Everything from swimsuits, shorts & tee's to heavy coats and earmuffs was packed along with needs for our whole cruise. Embarkation was fine, as we arrived just after noon, had lunch in the main dining room and found our cabin to be ready after lunch, with bags arriving within an hour ...

Perfect Place to Relax and Have a Little Adventure

This was our first cruise. We never really considered cruising before--it seemed so focused on food, and impossible to connect with local culture. While those might be legitimate criticisms, we nonetheless found it an ideal vacation! The Jewel is a bit older, and seems geared to an older crowd. We chose a cruise that was after school spring breaks and of a length that most working adults could ...

We are a late 60's couple married 46 years with at least 14 prior cruises to our credit, 5 long cruises across the Atlantic with lots of sea days. This was a much anticipated cruise with lots of research including the McCullough book "Path between the Seas". Of course the cruise was much more than the day we spent going through the canal. We like lazy at sea days with lots of time to read and ...

Princes is not the Equal to Royal Caribbean

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Emerald Princess

OMG, over 700 kids and over 500 from South America. But that is just a holiday cruise. The real issue is that they bill themselves as a equal to Royal Caribbean and they are not. She is a nice ship, they are for the most part good staff, but all the little niceties are missing. Along with the cruise director? Was there one on board? The food was good 4 out of 7 nights, the steak house is ...

Left from Houston with 9 others (5 veranda cabins) for our 7 day cruise to Cozumel, Roatan & Belize on November 30, 2014. I had gone on this same cruise two times before (last year) and my husband had gone once before. Upon arrival at the terminal we quickly realized that we were on a floating old-folks home. There were countless walkers, scooters and wheelchairs. The embarkation was pretty ...

Princess Ships not all the same

We went on our 1st cruise on the Princess Caribbean. It was great. Our last cruise was on the Emerald. When we arrived at the terminal it was a nightmare to park and board, We stood in line for over 3 hours just to check in. When we finally got on the ship they immediately had a muenster drill and everyone was starving and very tired. Did not find the crew very informative or friendly. They seemed ...

The Absolute Worse and I am Elite Status

I just returned today from 5 days on the Emerald out of Houston. I am elite status and I have to say it was the worst cruise I have ever taken on any cruise line. The ship stinks. Your room, the elevators and the bathroom smell. The Princess singers and dancers were not very talented. The activities were minimal. Not enough to do. Mainly free karoke, and bingo. The food has really gone down in ...

We were scheduled to depart Houston for a 5 night cruise at 4:00pm on November 11th. This was our very FIRST Princess cruise. We have taken several other cruises with 4 other cruise lines. We arrived early at the terminal - about 11:15am because it looked like it was about to rain. We booked a mini-suite, so we had early embarkation at 12:00. They opened the doors at 11:45 because it had started ...
