Pride of Aloha - Hawaii

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Norwegian Sky

This was the worse cruise ever. I have been on several cruises but this was my first with Norwegian. I can say without a doubt I will never sail another Norwegian cruise. My husband and I chose this ship for our honeymoon. Before booking I learned the ship was recently renovated. Well I don't know where the renovations were because I saw no evidence of a recent renovation. This ship is old and ...

I enjoy cruising. The wife and I have traveled to Alaska twice and we have enjoyed many cruises in the Caribbean. So Hawaii just seem to be another great choice for a cruise. This however was our first trip on a NCL ship. We choose Pride of Aloha because of the ports of call and time in each port. also the fact that NCL cruises by at night so you can see the lava flow at the big Island. The length ...

For purposes of a frame of reference, this was not our first cruise. In fact, we've sailed Royal Caribbean 4 times, Princess Once and Norwegian on two prior occasions. These cruises have taken us to Alaska twice and the Caribbean the rest of the time. This was our first trip to Hawaii. We were SOOOOO excited to be going to Hawaii and completely trusted Norwegian to make our experience a good one. ...

My impression of Pride of Aloha, sailing 7/18/2006. My sister, knowing I loved Hawaii and had lived there many years after college, called me to tell me we were flying to Hawaii and were taking a cruise around the islands (in a balcony room) on NCL's Pride of Hawaii. That sounded very good until I went looking on the net for the reviews. I was alarmed by the tremendous negative reviews. ...

We have cruised on NCL 2 times prior to cruising on the Pride of Aloha. After reading many of the reviews, I too was a little concerned. We flew in 3 days prior to the 6/18/06 departure from Honolulu. We had booked our own airfare and hotel accommodations in Honolulu as it was cheaper than doing it through NCL. The embarking process was very smooth. Once we were on the ship we went upstairs to ...

We had a very lousy time on the Pride of Aloha. This was my 10th cruise and my mom's 8th, and it was the worst one we've had. We've both sailed with NCL before and had a great time; not on this one! It began on day 1, when we were exploring the ship. I was stepping off an elevator when I slipped and almost fell. It was because someone had vomited (don't want to get gross, but it was a huge ...

Hawaii is Great, but I would not recommend this cruise. I read reviews before going on this cruise. Some good, some bad. I figured that you can't make everyone happy and thought how bad could it be? The food at the buffets was the same almost every morning. Very average. That is, when the buffet was open. Lines are long and the service is slow. They were always running out of some type of food. ...

This was my second cruise in 6 months. My first was on Carnival " Victory" in October with a girlfriend. On Pride Of Aloha I went with 10 other family members. We booked the cruise and air from a newspaper ad that gave a great discount for booking within 24 hours. We had 3 couples celebrating wedding anniversaries and 2 birthdays. I had read many reviews and was concerned but I always look on the ...

If you have cruised before, don't take this cruise. The "freestyle dining" is a nightmare. A tip - you can make reservations in the standard dining rooms. The Palace is much better than the Crossings restaurant. The staff is more experienced and have a better attitude in the Palace. It is a real shame that you have to pay a service fee in the specialty restaurants to get the quality dinner you ...

If you are taking this cruise, you need to pack Lysol, Clorox wipes, Ant & Roach spray, and some type of cleaner with bleach. I am not a clean freak nor do I have fetishes. However, it is unacceptable to have a room with a restroom that smells of urine, excrement, mold and mildew. The balcony had straws from the last guests. The carpet was gamey and it seemed unsanitary to walk on in bare feet. ...
