Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

It seems the travel industry has decided big is beautiful, we now see huge resorts covering hectares and more to the point cruise liners being the equivalent of land based resorts. I am of course talking about cruising in ships like the Ovation of the Seas versus the Radiance of the seas. It all comes down to personal choice, you might prefer to spend 14 days cruising on a floating hotel with ...

Carnival Legend from Honolulu to Sydney

We chose this cruise because we wanted to go to Hawaii and cruise back home. Also that we could spend Australian Dollars on the ship. The crew were fabulous, always friendly. Food was good. Entertainment good. The crossing was mostly calm with a couple of days where the sea was rough, but the ship handled the bad weather very well. The cabin (7162) was great and having the extended balcony ...

We chose this cruise for the embarkation port Honolulu and the ports we visited. The ship was repositioning and the time of year was perfect. It was very smooth sailing and the weather was very warm. We have never cruised Carnival Cruise Line before and were pleasantly surprised in a lot of ways but also disappointed in some ways as well. The service and staff were terrific, we enjoyed the ...

Great cruise; just a few things that could have made it better.

Cabin was great larger than most port hole cabins, would of been nice to have another port than Picton straight after Wellington didnt get any real feeling for NZ from those 2 ports. My Time was a bit of a issue and the flexability for My time is now gone had to set a time and that wasnt always what suited. Wind Jammer always seem to have the same food and just didnt have the variety that was with ...

Chose this cruise because of the destinations. Found embarkation could have been handled better ie. long time queuing. Hard sales for drinks packages which were extortionate compared to other cruise lines, speciality restaurants and always pushing for booking another cruise in the news letter received every evening in the cabin. Excursions were also expensive compared to other cruise lines and not ...

We had some niggles/problems during the first few days of our cruise: butler was rather absent, especially when time to help us unpack, non-existent staff on deck 16 when sunbathing and wanting a drink, or even a mat for the wicker sun lounger, some false charges on the account etc etc; however we addressed them with the ship and plans were immediately put in place to ensure the rest of our ...

We wanted to go to New Zealand and Australia. Overall we enjoyed the trip. However, we generally prefer smaller ships. For this trip, the Solstice was a good choice. Our room was a designated handicapped room with balcony (we didn't require a handicapped room, but it was available and the shipboard location was good). The room size was generous for a cruise liner. Dining was good though not ...

We have just returned from our cruise and had a wonderful time. We (husband and wife) are mid-50's. Embarkation in Honolulu was slightly disorganized, going one direction to pick up luggage tags, then another direction to drop the bags off, then through security. The first two days were spent in Maui, the only island that we had visited previously. We rented a car from Alamo through ...

The ship was very clean and well maintained with the exception of some leaky plumbing on deck five port-side. We chose the last balcony cabin because, it was the only stateroom available. We booked this cruise because of the turmoil in Europe. We were originally booked on the Vista from Athens to Barcelona, continuing on to NYC, for a back to back. We have sailed on the Legend before out of Tampa. ...
