Rhapsody - May it RIP

I'm sure the ship may have been a Rhapsody at some point but it needs to be retired. Hawaii and Canada were lovely and was the only saving grace. I'm not sure why RCL has invested in trying to put a band-aid on this boat instead of just replacing it with one of the newer vessels. The refurbish was a waste of good money. You can see that they tried, but unfortunately they failed miserably. The ...

Dissatisfied with Meals and Entertainment

We have been loyal RCL cruisers for many years. We tried other cruise lines and always come back to RCL for the WOW factor. We booked this cruise for the destination and that is just what we got. A boat ride with poor meal selection, horrible entertainment, and employees who are going through the motions on an entry level ship to "pay their dues" so they can upgrade to a better ship contract in ...

Outstanding experience

My last few cruises on RCI have been less than satisfactory, but the Rhapsody was outstanding. I believe a ship experience reflects the Captain and in our case Captain Rob was one of the best I've sailed with. His dry humor made his noon reports a high point (ocean depth is 20,000 feet...and 3 inches). He was around the ship often, participated in things such as the cake making (although he built ...

Sailed the Rapsody to Alaska two years ago. The experience other than the entertainment was a total delight. This sailing was an utter disappointment. I had bragged the Rapsody up to our companions to the extent that |I was embarrassed. They must think I have little taste at all. This is our fifth time sailing RCI. There will never be another. They have no pride in their ship. The same dirty ...

Lets start with..... Dirty rooms when we arrived, dirty plates in the nightstands, rooms not vacuumed, etc... -YUCK!! Dinner at Chops Grill on Mothers Day: Steaks were not that great, we had better in the dining room. After being at dinner for over 2 hours with a 4 year old, we asked "may we please have a piece of cake to go, he can't sit here any longer" (have you ever sat with a 4 year old in ...

I would like to start off by saying Thank You to Royal Caribbean for adding to our wonderful wedding/honeymoon. We truly enjoyed our trip as a whole, and you helped make it memorable. Now... on with the review. After getting engaged February, a year earlier (2011), we've decided to go to Hawaii for our wedding. And, for our honeymoon, a cruise of sorts. For me, this was my 2nd cruise, so ...

Hawaii repositioning - eastbound, Honolulu to Vancouver

This was another great cruise, but it ought to be said we have never had a bad one. The itinerary was good, the ship was in good shape, the weather was beautiful and the food was plentiful, fresh and well-prepared - for the most part*. We spent three days on the Big Island prior to flying to Honolulu for the cruise. Embarkation seemed a bit awkward - more so than others we have experienced, but ...

This was our first time on RCI (Celebrity twice, Princess once) and we chose it strictly because of the itinerary - fly to Honolulu from Vancouver, 3 days in Honolulu, board Rhapsody, stop in Lahaina, Hilo and Kailua-Kona, then cruise the Pacific back to Vancouver. The interary was perfect - lots of time in ports to do what we wanted - snorkel, tour the volcanoes (actually walked through the ...
