I felt the Pride

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Pride of America

We started early with a 3 night add-on from NCL in Honolulu. That was very economical and we saw a lot of things we wouldn’t have otherwise. It included going to the Polynesian Cultural Center, but it did not include staying there for the dinner and extremely excellent show, Ha: Breath Of Life. We bought tickets direct from PCC and they had a bus ride back to the hotel. You will want to this or ...

We loved this cruise. This is the best way to get in as many islands as you can in one shot. The ship is on the smallish side, but that was fine for us. It's beautiful, well maintained and chock full of Americana. The food is cruise food, nothing stellar, nothing terrible. The ports are amazing and they give you the luxury of overnights in Maui and Kauai. Don't let the bad reviews dissuade ...

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Grand Princess

First cruise post Covid. Normally I cruise regularly on both Holland America and Princess. I deliberately kept my expectations low and given the large numbers of negative comments and complaints I noted prior to departure I wasn't expecting a really great cruise.... I was very pleasantly surprised. Embarkation in Honolulu was the quickest ever.... I arrived at the pier at 11am picked up my ...

Transpacific on the Royal - a terrific time

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Royal Princess

In Honolulu, we boarded a sailing that started in Vancouver – our final destination was Sydney and we spent a total of 20 days onboard. This was our first time on the Royal class ships and we found it an improvement over the older Grand class. The Royal is showing her age, but then so were a majority of its passengers (I’m in my late 60’s – I can make that joke)… Overall we found the ship easy ...

I can honestly say we had a great time, we booked the cruise as a different way in coming home to Australia from the USA, with the price of airfares these days it was a no brainer, we were told it was a repositioning cruise and were told not to expect too much, we had no expectations so thought, lets go! We booked a rear suite, a premier drinks package with all the trimmings direct with ...

Terrible Food and Lame Entertainment

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

The food in Cafe Blu was horrible. I am a plant eater mostly. My choices were limited and tasteless. My husband found the meats in the Ocean View Cafe to be over cooked. I have noticed on our last 3 cruises with Celebrity that the quality of food has gone down. The entertainment has always been slow, but enjoyable. However, during this cruise the entertainment was unimaginative. I felt like the ...

Good cruise but nothing special

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

The main draw for booking this cruise was the itinerary which cruised one way from Honolulu to Tahiti, New Zealand and Australia over our 20th anniversary. Having sailed twice on Celebrity since cruising restarted it is the cruise line my husband and I are most familiar with at this time. Everything went as planned with no problems or disruptions and the weather was fantastic. Overall it was an ...

We sailed on POA at the end of September in 2023. I poured over reviews on this site and will admit that I had my expectations set very low from the consistently harsh reviews on here. This will not be such a review. We had an absolute wonderful vacation in Hawaii. Is this a traditional cruise? Absolutely not. If you go in thinking you're going to be doing activities all over the ship during ...

Overall Poor Ship

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Pride of America

Good itinerary but unfortunate the ship is very dated, well past its best, a lot of wasted space, ie a huge library, card room , art gallery/ shop all barely used. Food is average at best and often poor. Speciality restaurants are no better. Entertainment, is sparse and is worse than amateurish, at times very embarrassing. Singers with backing tracks rather than live musicians. ...
